Critic reviews

"Pimsleur programs provide plenty of positive reinforcement that will keep learners on track, and we found that Pimsleur gave us more proficiency and confidence in speaking the new language than any of the other language programs we reviewed." ( AudioFile magazine)

effective learning techniques

effective learning techniques used here, repetitive reinforcement. Easy enough for my 7 year old to understand and learn.

Best course I have tried.

Would you listen to Norwegian Phase 1, Unit 01-05 again? Why?

Yes again and again....some of the words are hard to tell what first consenent they are using is since everything is auditory. So you will have to pick up a dictionary to double check

Any additional comments?

This course makes it really easy to feel confident with speaking the language.

A Great Way to Learn!

i've tried Rosetta Stone & Babbel before.. but just couldn't stay motivated to keep going. i've been using this to learn Norwegian to & from work each day & i'm definitely making progress. which keeps me motivated. i enjoy the methods used, the science behind it. the only thing i can think of that isn't perfect is sometimes i have trouble determining if a sound is a "p" or a "b" as well as the sounds with an "m" or an "n".. aside from that, this program is amazing! definitely sticking with it for Norwegian & any other languages i want to learn!

Great starting point

We have moved almost one year ago to Norway and we are using this to learn the language. It is especially helpful and useful for me because I’m blind and I always concentrate on how words sound. So far I’m done with the first 10 lessons and I’m happy with what I’ve learned.
Immediately after starting these lessons I begin to understand a few words from what people were talking on the street. Now, after 10 lessons I can make sense of more and more words every day.
Really happy with the content! I will continue with all the volumes and after that I want to learn how to write as well.
Now, that I understand the format I think that it will be easier for me to take up any additional languages as well.

I’m learning Norwegian

My wife speaks and is Norwegian, she approves of these lessons for me. The only critique she made was how they teach the greeting phrases. To ask: “how’s it going?”, they use the phrase: “hvordan har du det?”, which is correct but most people say: “hvordan går det?” I can see why they use that less used phrase tho, the words “har, du, and det” are used often in these first chapters. Overall I think it’s quite engaging and really warms up my mind to speak without thinking. I’m a tough critique because I expect proper structure when listening to academic lectures. I approve of this and I would check out “Adventures of Nils”
