About this listen

John Bunyan was a simple maker and mender of pots and pans who received very little education. In spite of that, he penned the most successful allegory ever written.

Embark on a perilous journey with Christian, the lead character, from the City of Destruction to the luminous safe haven of the Celestial City. The journey will encourage you to "set your hope fully on the grace to be given you" amidst the obstacles of life.Public Domain (P)2008 christianaudio.com

Enjoyable listen

Finally got through this classic with the help of this excellent narrator. It’s a tough book with lots of steep spiritual concepts but the narrator does a great job of speaking clearly but with relevant emotion.

More Christian treatise than novel.

Divided in 2 halves, Christian's trials on his way to the Celestial City--then his wife Christiana's.There's a fair bit of repetition is the second half and Christiana and her children have much fewer speaking parts than Christian did.
Will appeal to the pious. Likely seem a litany of straw man fallacies to everyone else.
A 10 hour sermon.

Can't understand the speaker

Would you consider the audio edition of Pilgrim's Progress to be better than the print version?

I think the print version is better. The written book is beyond excellent all should read it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Christian,Hope,Charity

How could the performance have been better?

Yes, could be a bit slower, the English accent throws me off.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Too long for one sitting.

Any additional comments?

If you can understand a fast British accent then you will do fine.

Classic Christian Literature

I won't say much about the book, except it is still applicable to the Christian life today. The narrator is outstanding. She is easy to understand. I did not tire of listening to her.

good book

I liked the book , but the narrator sounded like she had a cold, and got to quiet sometimes.

Most Wonderful

After you get use to the old English in the first chapter it's a wonderful "read"! I plan on listening to it many times over, it lifts the Spirit.

Nadia May is one of the best readers out there

Nadia May is one of the best readers out there, and my personal favorite, alongside Derek Jacobi. Her style is engaging and carries the story well
