Good conclusion

I enjoyed how this played out. I am still not a fan of the interpretation of one of the characters accents by one of the narrators.

The story line was awesome. The suspence is great. I think I will come to listen to this again.

Enjoyed but…

I really enjoyed this duet. However, the female narrator was so annoying with her accent for Villi. It was like she made him a robot and took me out of the story every single time.

Low angst, spicy, sugary sweet omegaverse

Omegaverse is my book trope equivalent of cotton candy- airy, fluffy, rots my teeth, and you're not ALWAYS in the mood for it. But when I am, it's the sweetest most delicious treat ever...and you just keep nomming on that delectable spun sugar bc it does down so easy and tastes like happiness.

So, when I'm in an omegaverse headspace, normally it's because I need something gentle, saccharine, and squishy. (i veer more to the SWEET omegaverse vs. dark) Normally because I'm in a fragile place for whatever reason emotionally and this trope ALWAYS makes me feel whole. So, that being said, I dove into this KNOWING that I wanted teeth rotting adorableness- and that's exactly what I got. If romantic angst was on a 1-10 scale, this would be like a negative 5 LOL. The guys are all ridiculously over the top in love with her, they bend over backwards to care for her and dote on her, and they treat her like she's a fragile treasure. AND I ATE THAT ISH UP. I especially loved something I see less often- an omega with a life threatening chronic health condition. It makes for a really interesting set up (she can't go into heat, spice is hard on her heart, she IS fragile in some ways) and made for even more over the top protective and caregiving alphas.

I can definitely see how some reviewers may find this less engaging- and if I hadn't been in my headspace for over the top sweetness I might have found this a bit bland and slow, but for me it was just what I wanted. There is very little plot other than courting, it DOES feel slow towards the end, and it's a slower burn- which is NOT what you expect in an omegaverse. There is some spice, but we don't have much penetrative sex (or knotting), no full heats, it all feels very vanilla...but I think book 2 will open up the door for more. I liked the pack of guys- many actually do have compelling personalities and backstories (three of them more than the other two), and our omega is quite literally Polly Pocket meets Pollyanna.

The dual narrated audio was really enjoyable. Alex Kydd is SO underrated and he does a great job performing all of the guys voices and he always can deliver SWOONY but edgey guys- so he's perfect for omegaverse truly. And Caitlin Elizabeth I know less about as a narrator, but I liked her here as our Bailey Rose. She's very sweet and vulnerable in her voice but also has a little sass and spine.

Such a great ending to a go to comfort story

I adore Bailey-Rose. I have read the duet multiple times. It's a go to comfort read when I don't need to clear out the dark, bully or angsty romances I tend to gravitate to. This has angst, but her pack adores her from the SECOND they meet her. Not minute, but second. They never falter, they never waiver.

Elizabeth Knight allows her characters to grow and expand with individual stories. That's not easy to juggle with multiple partner reads. It seems like one character or another doesn't get full time and leaves gaps in some books I've read. I got to know all of the partners in the pack, unfolding page by page. Each were individuals and it explained how each cog came together, not just Bailey-Rose. She was the sun, but they were all gravitating around each other, not just her.

Love this story. The FMC is one of my sunshiny, rainbow favorites when I need her!

better than the first

This story had some storylines that would be amazing fleshed out however the time with only two books for this pack didn't work. It felt like they would get to one storyline and then shorten it because the author was bord of what was being written which made the story fill not fleshed out but stuffed full of half ideas. The performance was good on the females end but when the males narrator talked it was hard for me to tell the pack memebers apart. I also had a issue with the omega in these books. She was described as childlike with toll features if I'm remembering right. The story also felt really conflicted. At some point the omega had a backbone and at others she was weak, like emotionally broken. While that would be okay for a story it felt wrong in these books because the Omegas trauma came from a ex boyfriend and yet the first book the omega says she didn't see any issues with her ex while they were together. This felt really bad because the story pertrays the omega as traumatized by the relationship to the point that she has commitment issues and even nightmares. That's not the only thing conflicting with this story but I'll leave it at that. All together the book wasn't good but it wasn't bad either. I won't be reading this again but will be reading the next in hopes that with a new pack I won't be so annoyed by the omega.
