About this listen
On a mission to stop the Foundation from creating an army of cyborgs, wanted felon Brayden Sawyer is trapped far from his ship and crew in the last place he wants to be...Earth. With the Foundation hot on his heels, Bray must ask his family for refuge - a family who always preferred his brother Gryffin over him and kicked him out of their lives a decade ago.
When his family rejects him a second time, Bray wonders if saving Gryffin - and completing his mission - is worth it. All his life, he's been second best to his brother, a brother he never really knew. But turning his back on Gryffin is out of the question and he won't let the Foundation do to others what they've already done to him and Gryffin.
Breaking into Foundation headquarters, Bray comes face to face with the horrible truth about his brother's cyborg enhancements as well as his own modifications. And that's not all...the Foundation is set to destroy a planet of innocent people, using Gryffin as their number one weapon.
With time running out, Bray must finish what he started. Together with Garvan and his family, Bray must escape Earth with the necessary technology to save Gryffin and stop the Foundation's evil plans. But can one man stand against the all-powerful and tyrannical Foundation? If Bray can save Gryffin, he may just have a fighting chance.

An Irish mobster. A missing friend. Two loyalties, ripping me apart. I had a plan. Get in, get my information, and get out. Easy, right? Turns out, infiltrating the Irish mafia isn't exactly what I thought it would be. I just wanted a soldier. Someone I could flirt with to get me in the door. That's when Lachlan Crow noticed me. Problem was, he wasn't a soldier. No, he was next in line for the throne of the Irish underworld. And he was determined to hate me from the outset.

Story
Plagued by nightmares and panic attacks, seventeen-year-old Jax Mitchell wants nothing more than a life of seclusion with only her twin brother for company. So when he's kidnapped by Earth's reclusive alien settlers, the E'rikon, she'll do anything to get him back--even form an alliance with a teenage E'rikon boy left behind by the same ship that took her brother. Jax agrees to act as a guide, and in return, the alien agrees to sneak her past the human-proof barrier surrounding the E'rikon city. Too bad it's not that simple. Jax soon finds that she's drawn to the alien boy with bright green hair and jewel-like scales on his back--and he's equally affected by her, the courageous redhead with haunted eyes. But she doesn't know the alien's true motives, and he has no idea that she is much more than she seems. With the aliens and the humans at odds, the connection forming between the two teens has consequences. What started off as a rescue mission sets in motion a chain of events that threatens not only the remaining humans and the growing alien society, but Earth itself.

As of last night, he has a passenger in his brain - an ancient alien life-form called Tao, whose race crash-landed on Earth before the first fish crawled out of the oceans. Over the millennia his people have trained human heroes to be great leaders, to advance our species at a rate far beyond what it would have achieved on its own. Bray fights his past and learns about his current
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely! The narration is so well done with different voices, tones, infliction's, and accents it is a treat to listen to.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Perses?
This story is more emotional with memories of the past, and Bray working through everything from when he was young through now. The feelings he felt toward his parents and his brother were those of a child that didn't see or know the whole story. Then, he has to tell his uncle and cousin about his family in the here and now. I was touched by what Morgan told Bray of his mother and father. Bray didn't remember or see the adult side of things and it was touching to hear about them.
Have you listened to any of Keith Michaelson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Oh yes. Keith is one amazing narrator. I love listening to his work. I looooove his voice. Okay, serious stuff now. He voices the characters with their own voice through tone, accent, and heart. The inflection he puts in each character brings them to life as their own whole person. Wow. I'm drawn into the story and forget he's a narrator because the characters come to life as individuals. That's amazing work!
Any additional comments?

Bray and Garvan. Yes ma'am. And thank you. These two characters were growing to be some of my favorite secondary characters in the previous two books. Well, they aren't the only ones. So to get the treat of them together and fighting to survive along with learning about their pasts, sign me up! I was thrilled to get into this story with them.
We get the story from Bray's POV on Earth. We also get sections from One's POV. These sections are very, very insightful. One is on the council that's behind all that's going on. We get to learn about their new colony they were trying to build. I'm not 100% sure about this colony and where it's at, but I'm sure it's going to be something mentioned more in the future. And the biggest piece of information.... One's behind Garvan being put in prison. Garvan knows something that could destroy One and everything he's working for. This puts a target on Garvan's head. We also get scenes from Garvan's POV, which are important moments when things start moving in their plans.
I think I mentioned in the previous book that I was growing to like Garvan quickly. And I was right. I absolutely love him as a character. There are times he brings a huge smile to my lips with his personality and responses. They aren't the quick clip one lines, Garvan is more one to talk and leave the hint in what he says, almost a genuine sarcasm. I do love him. Garvan knows a lot about the scans and equipment used on Earth to identify people. He really grew on me in the last book, and I really like him here. This is part of what his job was before he went to prison. And his story! We learn his back story here too. Oh Garvan...
The beginning felt slower, because there wasn't much Bray could do on Earth. I had an idea but wasn't sure how he was going to take on a huge Foundation headquarters on his own. But we get personal with Bray and Garvan. Then it all comes together and we get to what the Hunters do best. Fight.
This is another wonderful addition to the Nomad series. I always enjoy the writing and narration in the biggest way. I look forward to more books!

adds a lot of interesting information & excitement
Perses by K.A. Finn is the third book in the Nomad series. Brayden and Garvin, on a mission to gather all the intelligence on the Foundation’s cyborg program, become trapped on Earth, the center of Foundation operations. Brayden’s family, who up until this point thought that he was dead, agree to help and harbor them until they are able to escape. But little does Brayden know that his cousin is now an officer in the Foundation. Eventually, as Brayden’s story about the cyborg program and his treatment at the hands of the foundation, he and his family must come to terms with reality. As Brayden and Garvin, with the help of Brayden’s family, work to escape Earth, both must deal with the pasts they left behind so long ago on Earth.
Perses is a short follow up, possible novella length, to two previous books in the Nomad series. It takes a new turn as it follows the activity of Brayden, who is not the primary focus of the first two books. It also takes the reader to a new setting, away from the outer sector to Earth. And wonderfully, Perses follows in the great tradition of the first two novels. There is a lot of action, the pacing is well done, and the characters are well developed with great interactions. There is a lot of new information introduced about what the Foundation is up to and how the different characters slowly come to understand the changing realities is of the Foundation and its cyborg program is well done. It is also really interesting to read about the Brayden’s past and meet his estranged family. While this is the main storyline, the side story of Garvin and his relationship with the Foundation is also a welcome layer to the story. I do wish there was a small amount of time spent catching the reader up with what has happened in the previous book. It would be hard to understand what’s going on without reading the previous books. While I wish this addition to the series was longer, it’s a great added piece that adds a lot of interesting information and excitement. The end sets up the story for the next book and I look forward to where the adventure takes us next.
The narration by Keith Michaelson is excellent as usual. He does a great job with the characterization of each of the characters and makes each voicing reflect their personalities and emotion. The production quality was also great. I would recommend this installment of the series to anyone who enjoys space operas and the fight of the few against the vast and powerful.

Perses is a Great Continuation
What did you love best about Perses?
This book takes place where the last book ended.Once again, K.A. Finn delivers an entertaining story and develops her characters enough so that you care about what happens to them. She has created a rich world in Earth's future, where corruption reigns supreme and the innocent are fighting for things the Earth (Foundation) no longer stand for. This becomes an eye opener for Bray's family who trusted and worked for the very Foundation that destroyed their family. It was nice to see how they decided to handle it. Career or family? Read the book to see what they chose. As always, K.A's description of the world immerses you and gives you a feel for what life in this universe is like. I liked the main character's Bray and Garvan's determination and I loved how it ended without giving anything away. I think this will prove interesting when we get back to Griffin's story and his overabundance of problems with his cyborg parts. I just hope the next book doesn't take as long to hit audible. However.....
Which character – as performed by Keith Michaelson – was your favorite?
I understand why.Keith Michaelson is completely worth the wait. How he manages to create so many unique voices and keep them straight, I'll never know but it's a true gift and talent he has. He really does have a thousand voices and he delivers his lines with a passion for the material. I love his narration work, and I've bought books I'd never have bought just because he was the narrator and I've yet to be disappointed.I think in this book I like One and Garvan's voices the best.
You'll find any book I've reviewed with Keith as the narrator will have me gushing because he's just that good. As a listener, I truly appreciate the effort it must take to give every character its own voice.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
This book was shorter than the previous books and I think I did listen to it in one setting. Once you are drawn into KA's word, it's hard to pull yourself away from it.
Any additional comments?
This book is part of the Nomad Series and is a bit different from those because it's mostly set on Earth. The previous books were set in Space and aboard a ship but they do have some of that in this book. All have been great futuristic/space opera. So join in on Bray and Garvan's quest to stop the foundation from making any more Cyborgs like Bray's brother, Griffin. You can't go wrong with K.A. Finn paired with Keith, it's a truly entertaining match made in heaven. Get this series! You won't be disappointed. If you found this helpful, please press yes.

Bray & Garvan Vacation to Earth. Wait Thats Not It
Perses picks up right where Nemesis leaves off with Bray and Garvan being trapped aboard the Foundation ship, Alpha. Once landed on earth, they manage to escape the ship and the area around it by unconventional, but fitting for a Hunter, means. Bray turns to the only family he has left on earth for shelter, his uncle Morgan and cousin Erin but Bray didn’t leave on the best terms and it turns out his family thinks he is dead.
Bray hated to leave Alpha without gathering the information he needed about the cyborg experiments but he knew it would have been suicide to take on the task with only Garvan by his side and no plan. Plus there is the problem of how to get off earth and back to the outer sector... As the story unfolds, we learn a lot about Bray’s past and even a little about our friend Garvan.
As usual, K.A. Finn’s writing is excellent! I get so engrossed in the story that I could get lost in it and forget all about my obligations. Perses is relatively short compared to Ares and Nemesis but it’s fitting for the events that occur in the story.
I truly believe that this series is best enjoyed in audio format. Keith Michaelson delivers another stellar performance and brings the story to life.
At the end of the audiobook we get a short excerpt from the next book but its just a big tease. I absolutely cannot wait until the next book is released!
