Everything has a price. Pangea Online is no different.

Since leaving the orphanage, Esil has spent the past year toiling in the data mines of Pangea while watching the wealthy elite traverse its myriad of game worlds. His luck changes forever when he discovers a legendary Developer's Chest. The Premium Worldpass inside grants him unlimited access to all of Pangea.

Now, Esil isn't just stuck watching as others explore Pangea. He can finally level up.

With his newfound fortune, he enters a tournament to compete against some of the most skilled adventurers Pangea has to offer. He’s a long shot to win, but for the first time in his life, being a kid from the slums has its advantages when he discovers a bug in the obscure data-mining class.

With an even playing field, he might just have a shot.

But his in-game actions have real-world consequences, and failure online threatens everything he holds dear.

So all in all a good series. It certainly has some features from other games and stories that makes it enjoyable. the first book I would rate a 5 hands down.
book 2 and 3 the lead character killed it for me. His attitude towards the rich made it like listening to someone's views of real life. So every time he acted out I was drawn back to reality and not the escape into another world.

I want to give it a better score

I love these three books. I was so upset when it was over. I’ll have to read them again soon

Awesome

The narrators did a wonderful job. The content is enjoyable, but if it were a movie, it would be a straight to DVD version of Ready Player One that’s been reduced from PG-13 to PG.

For my tastes, this story was decent but not great but could have been a four-star review from me if it wasn't for how Rowland wrote the main character. This was my major turn-off.

I found Esil to be whiny and petulant, and pretty unlikeable. I also disliked the social-justice theme, bing all-too unrealistic to the point of ridiculous.

Between the social justice theme and the whiny main character, it was too much for me.

As always though, the cast of Soundbooth Theater, James, Hayes, and Winkle did an awesome job.

it was a entertaining book for 1 credit, reminded of a knocknoff version of Ready player one, with all the same mechanics and themes of previous games with just enough generic changes as not to be a exact clone.

I finished book one and I am in the middle of book 2 the first thing I thought was this is a spin on Ready Player One. When I got into book two it still had an air of Ready Player Two.

The stories aren't bad but the narration could be better. Narration itself is good but the added sound effects are annoying and are not needed. I wish they would leave it to the story and the narration to build the image in your mind and not overdo it with the sound effects.

Lets see how the rest of book 2 and 3 are

All in all Not bad

After the beginning of the book I loved this story. I didn't like how the main character was able to team up with one of the most well-known streamers right off the bat. I love the world hopping and how the characters get to see different areas everyday. Not being tied down to one single world was pretty cool. I like the exploration as well as the NPCs who changed and we're almost like real players. I like feeling good after a story and this trilogy did it for me. I'll definitely look at the author's other works.

Started like an average Litrpg but.....

I enjoyed the series, though I think the first book was the most enjoyable for me.

A fun book that is what you’d hope for when going into the genre. Narrator’s and writer fit everything into a great book. Good job

LitRPG is not really my genre but because of all the reviews I decided to give this a try.
I loved there were so many different connected game worlds.
The narration is excellent and the characters mostly likable.
Especially the first book had a lot of charm. Books 2 and 3 I liked less. (3 was better than 2 though)
I recognized some things from other books (Hunger Games, Harry Potter)

I think this omnibus would be more fitting in the children's/ teen section/ genre.
It has a really big ‘family friendly vibe’ and I think it is great to listen to with your children, while enjoying it yourself too.
But, listening to this story as an adult (alone) it wasn't a good fit (for me at least)
I was mostly bothered by the believability. For me, Esil didn’t act like a person who has spent his whole life in a box.
The outside world, fresh air and luxury seemed to grow on him awfully fast, and that made it less believable/ immersive to me.
He also acts unlikable at times, putting me off. (joke about eating vegetables to children who have never even eaten ‘real food’ and abandoning a crying friend)

The narration was excellent, but I personally didn’t like the sound effects.
They made me flinch a lot of the time, seemingly coming out of nowhere. I don’t think it was necessary or well executed.

Should be labeled as a children's/ teen story
