With the USS Obama on a war footing, Captain Russell Grant takes extraordinary measures to pin down the murderer before morale plummets aboard and his mission is scuppered beyond repair. He promotes a female member of the crew to chief warrant officer, and she's soon joined in her investigation by two federal agents specially flown out to examine the circumstances.
Things take a turn for the worse when one of the agents is also killed, and razor sharp tension surfaces between Captain Grant and Agent Frank Waters. Tensions also arise as the submarine is placed on a war footing with the Chinese and the Koreans, and it's all Grant can do to keep a lid on things before matters implode beyond repair.

Good overall
Narrator was somewhat flat, but it fit with the mood if the story. Premise was interesting, but not executed well. The love spark was not at all believable and felt forced and unnecessary for the storyline - almost like an afterthought.

Tense and atmospheric
This is a close, tense, and claustrophobic thriller. You feel the walls and eyes of the killer, and you can sense the stress the crew is under. I really enjoyed it, and it has prompted me to seek out other underwater stories. I think you will like this one if you can stand the pressure. Pun intended! Enjoy!

A who dunnit aboard a sub
Pacific Deeps. A great novella absolutely gripping. Wished it was longer.
Great entertainment.
I've been a bit harsh with my star ratings - overall could have been a 4 * if the book concentrated on the murder and detection.
Narration is 1st class.

Not a bad short story. Keeps the reader guessing until the end who the killer is. I think it could have been a little longer.

USS Obama....Really!
Okay first off I think the story was descent...But no way USS Obama, it's pretty obvious Obama is a hero to the author...I don't think Obama would ever get a United States ship named after him, especially after all his failed policies , especially after he decimated our military after 8 years of failed military policies... This can all be fact checked. But like I said earlier the story is good, I just had to block out every time I heard the words USS Obama.. Don Moretti did a fine job of narrating. I received this audiobook for free in a promo, And this is my voluntary and honest unbiased review.

Good book!
In reviews I noticed politics in play. Please do not let this be a reason for listening or not listening to this book. This was a good book. A little sad at the end but still well worth listen. It was a tad shorter than I usually get but still good. My only problem was that the narrator didn't change his voice much between characters and events. But it by no means put me to sleep. Thank you author and narrator.
