hampered by the narrator
the stories are great. painting a side of the USA which I have never seen again. unfortunately while the actual prose of the writing should have been enough to bring these tales to life, the narration seemed somewhat lifeless. a little monotonous, like a teacher reading a text out. can't fault the enunciation though.

LOVE his stories!
I had the privilege of having W. C. Jameson as my geography professor at UCA. I loved it when he would tell us about his travels. He's an awesome storyteller. I wish he would've been the narrator on this book!

Great Collection of Tales/Monotone Narration
This is a great collection of spooky folk tales. Unfortunately, the narration doesn’t fit the material. The interesting tales are diminished by the droning relation. It was a real effort to get through this for a time. It had been an audiobook I had looked forward to. Someone with a great storyteller’s voice like Richard Henzel would’ve made this come alive.
