Very good information from Mari Silva. Alike most of her books, this one is very good. it complements "Orishas". Describes all the perfect orishas with lots of info on them

An important and interesting audible

This audible has an important role - it demonstrates the multiplicity and richness of the Orishas, powerful voodoo queens, and Goddesses. It was interesting to listen, providing many fine details about the characters explored. It looks at historical and mythic aspects of the characters, the uncomfortable realities of slavery, women's issues, and the power of magic and faith to trying times.

I enjoyed learning about Orishas and diving deeper into each orisha. I feel reconnected to my history understanding spirituality, order, practice and intention with orishas.

Lilith Dorsey's "Orishas, Goddesses, and Voodoo Queens" covers the uncharted territory. An introductory text on the African divine feminine, with an eye toward a Pagan readership, simply hasn't been done before. What's delightful is that it is introductory, often simple, but never simple-minded. Dorsey also places *herself* squarely in the text; making sure we understand this work as authored by a woman of color. She doesn't shy away from the political, and that's amazing.

I am happy with this audible as it includes amazing facts about the Orisha gods. The complementary issues are also a fantastic plus. It is famous to find this much knowledge found in one book.

You cannot go back with this audiobook. It is a great beginner's book. The knowledge provided in this audible is valuable for practitioners of Lucumi & Santeria
