About this listen

Uncover the core of goodness within.

Love, compassion, meaning, hope, and freedom from fear are not qualities we need to acquire. We simply need to uncover what we already have.

"Original goodness" is Eknath Easwaran’s phrase for this spark of divinity hidden in every one of us, regardless of our personal liabilities or past mistakes.

Commenting on the Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount, Easwaran shows how this spark of divinity can energize our lives - beginning with a simple method of meditation that gradually removes the conditioning that hides our native goodness.

Eknath Easwaran is one of the 20th century's great spiritual teachers and an authentic guide to timeless wisdom. His books on meditation, spiritual living, and the classics of world mysticism draw from all the world’s great traditions and have been translated into 26 languages.

Beautiful, educational, pleasing to the ears and heart and mind. Can't think of a single thing that could've made it a better audiobook. Simply wonderful.

life changing

Stumbled upon this while looking for something related to the Beautitudes. What a wonderful find that I can't stop recommending to friends and family. This book can be categorized as "self help" but distinguishes itself by focusing on not just what you can do for yourself but what you must do for others. The author elequently removes the mask of worldly things to recognize it the awe and beauty of God's design. Finally, it is astonishing to see how this book written in 1989 is incredibly applicable to today's world. I bought the paperback as well and it will be re-read many times. Highly recommend

Fresh Eastern Perspective on a Traditional Christian Text

Thought-provoking, concise commentary drawing from a variety of faith traditions and spiritual figures. I found this through Easwaran's Bhagavad Gita translation and am glad I did.
