Publisher's summary

No one does wickedly funny and irresistibly steamy like New York Times best-selling author Lynsay Sands - especially in this red-hot romance between a reluctant vampire and the beauty who needs his help.

Luck be a vampire tonight...

When Nicole Phillips agreed to hire a housekeeper, she pictured someone a little frumpy and almost certainly female. Instead, she gets gorgeous, unmistakably male Jake Colson. The man is proving indispensable in the kitchen - and everywhere else. Except Jake might not be a mortal man at all.

Who wouldn't want to be a tall, dark, powerful vampire? Jake, for one. He's barely had time to adjust to his new state before he's roped into a family favor. Still, secretly playing bodyguard to sweet, sexy Nicole is turning out to be the wildest ride of his life. First, he'll put a stop to whoever's targeting her. Then he'll prove that this kind of love, and luck, happens only once in an eternity.

One Lucky Vampire

Jake is having trouble with what he has become. When his family reached out to ask him to help protect someone they know, with out letting her know why he is there he reluctantly agrees. I love how these books always keep me laughing. It was so fun to read.

Another Hot Vampire

Any additional comments?

First let me say that I love Lynsay Sands and this whole series. I was, however, a bit disappointed by the slow movement of the first half of this book. I kept wanting the characters to get on with it already! The second half was much better and more up to Sand's standards and reputation. I'm still glad I read this book and cannot wait for more to come!

Good story, not the best narrator

while not her best storyline, it was still enjoyable and easy to follow. The only problem I had was some odd pronunciations. Lucian's name is pronounced differently by every narrator. But it seemed he was reminding himself how to pronounce Notte every time it was used. Dani's name also was pronounced strange.

Interesting

This book wasn't the best story telling wise. I the ending was let me just say not up to ms. Lynsey's standards.
She has a great series some books are better than pthers. So I can't be to critical. I love this series and she has some good books. Please read and judge for yourself, this. Is only my personal opinion

Disappointed

I was disappointed with this book. I actually got distracted many times and left it to do other things. Normally with Lynsay Sands books I am captivated by the story, suspense and action. Not this time. But I am still a fan and will patiently wait for the next Argeneau Book to come out.

Really good addition to the series :D

4-4.5 stars

This was a very good story. I've read the rest of the series and this was a great addition. Jake is actually Stephano Jacob Colson Notte (but goes by name Jake Colson) who was changed by Vincent Argeneau to save his life in A Bite to Remember. He didn't take his change in circumstances well and I was happy to see his story and him coming to terms with everything.

Nicole is a portraitist and a good woman. She's just getting out of a bad marriage to a man who was just trying to fleece her for her money. Nicole is related to Marguerite Argeneau's maid and has know Marguerite for many years. When she has troubles during her divorce, Marguerite thinks her soon to be Ex is trying to kill her off before the divorce to get her money but Nicole doesn't believe it.

It's been 7 years since Jake was turned in to a Vampire to save him from sure death. He never wanted to be a Vampire (most of his family are and he had decided not to be changed) so when he finds himself a changed anyways he freaks and leaves everything behind. He ends up in a job doing personal security and is stewing in his life but not really making any progress when he is contacted by Marguerite asking for a favor. She explains about the issues Nicole is having and asks Jake to protect her by acting as her maid/cook for 2 weeks until the divorce is final and he agrees.

Marguerite introduces Nicole and Jake and he starts the job for a 2-week trial and Marguerite leaves soon after. Jake and Nicole start to get to know each other and soon after, Jake realizes he can't read Nicole and she's probably his lifemate. He realizes that he hasn't really accepted or moved on with his life as it is now and now his lifemate is here he has to get things together soon. A couple of issues show up that seem to confirm that someone is attempting to kill Nicole. When Jake is made sick by one of these attempts, Nicole has to call Marguerite and his family, who come to help. The attempt ends up bringing Jake's differences to light and he's forced to tell her what he is and hope she'll accept it all without freaking. This actually helps Jake, because in explaining it to Nicole, he realizes just how faulty his own prejudices are and is able to put them to rest.

Thankfully, because of her long friendship with Marguerite and her growing feelings for Jake, Nicole is accepting of Jake and his family's Vampire status. She also learns about lifemates and is sure she's not ready for a new relationship (especially with as fast as it all seems to be going) but she does decide to give Jake a chance. There is more danger as the attempts escalate but they find the person behind the attempts isn't her soon to be Ex after all. Then everyone is left scrambling, trying to find the true villain. When the villain shows up in the end, I was surprised to find out who it was. With a little bit of creativity, the villain is dispatched and the danger is ended and Jake and Nicole head in to a satisfying HEA that left me smiling.

I really liked this story. Jake and Nicole are great and I was happy to see them get together. The story was interesting and kept me engaged throughout. The secondary characters are (as always) great. This was a great addition to the series. I'd recommend this. Thumbs up! :D

Never Draw the worst Out of Anything!!!!!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, because it lapses into the mind when anything could happen.

What other book might you compare One Lucky Vampire to and why?

I'd compare it to "Love Bytes" as they seemed similar.
