Under the supervision of Captain Archie Blandings, a charming intelligence officer based in Lisbon, Ellie meets with undercover operatives to track down where Toby might be hiding from the Nazis and whether they are too late to safely recover him, all the while fighting her feelings for Ramsey and the incessant burden of war looming around her at every turn.

Enjoyable

This was a good ending to the series. I enjoyed it. I loved the setting in Portugal. I listened to all the stories in this series in one week! It was good company when I needed it. Thank you.

Favorite Series

I love this series. The lead characters and narration are superb. Wonderful historical mystery with romantic suspense.

I have loved this series!

There probably are, or were, some things I didn't like, but I really can't think of any. What I need to say is that this author and narrator have created a perfect escape from the ugliness of the world and the country at this time just outside my door. I will adore and remember Ellie's and Major Ramsey's story for a long time. Thank you both!

this was the best one

you saved the best for last. this book out of the series was the best one of the series. I really enjoyed it.

My favorite series

Ellie, is such an inquisitive and aware character. My favorite saying has always been ‘never give up, and never give in’. Kindred spirits. I love the way the story twists and turns. Randall is still the hero of the day. Searching for Toby as a final adventure in the series left me holding my breath more than a few times.
A wonderful story and I am pleased with the ending!

Satisfying ending to the WWII series

This last of the series was an easy listen with no surprises but a sweet ending. Great narration added to the fun.
