Publisher's summary

“Arthur Parks didn’t kill Amy Sinclair. I know who the killer is.”

The message on the tipline prompts local reporter Ginger Burrows to look deeper into the case. At the same time, DCI Kevin Greggs starts his own review of the police’s original investigation. Dr Ethan Quinn finds himself torn between his responsibility to Arthur as his doctor and his urge to find out if his patient is really guilty of Amy’s murder. They all find themselves drawn into a web of criminality and exploitation, where uncovering the truth might be too much of a risk to take.

Another great book

Enjoyed this one as much as the others. Nice easy listen. Sound effects were tamed down and enjoyable and the narrator is nice to listen to.

Truth Will Out

One Dark Night

"One Dark Night" by Molly Garcia is a gripping work of fiction filled with action, crime, thrills, and unexpected twists.

When journalist Ginger Burrows receives an anonymous tip that Arthur Parks may not have murdered Amy Sinclair, it could be the defining moment of her career. The problem is that Arthur, who has schizophrenia, has already been charged based on evidence found in his possession. DCI Kevin Greggs is the one who brought the charges against Arthur. However, now it's up to him to determine if there's any truth to the information before it becomes public knowledge. To do that, he needs the assistance of Dr. Ethan Quinn, Arthur's doctor. Ethan is torn between his loyalty to his patient and his desire to uncover the truth from Arthur. He must delve into Arthur's mind and carefully guide him back to the time and place of the event while revisiting previously overlooked suspects.
The engaging plot made this book a real page-turner. The vivid character descriptions and writing style drew me into the story, allowing me to connect with the characters and feel their emotions. Each chapter and page felt like putting together a puzzle, revealing hidden secrets.

This was the first time I had come across the term "Cuckooing", which is a term used by the police to describe a situation where a criminal takes over the home of a vulnerable person to use it for drug dealing, storing or taking drugs, facilitating sex work, providing a place to live, or financially abusing the tenant. This added a sense of realism to the story and shed light on a type of crime that I was unaware of.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the audiobook narrated by Grant Love. Once again, he captivated me with his storytelling, bringing the scenes to life and transporting me to a vivid theatre in my mind. Grant Love is a masterful narrator who skillfully immerses his audience in an emotional journey through the ups and downs of the story.

In conclusion, “One Dark Night” is a gripping suspense crime thriller novel with unexpected twists and turns, for which I would rate it 5 out of 5 stars. I would recommend this book to readers who love action sequences within the fascinating plot of a crime thriller.

Closed case???

Some very cold hearted people- sociopaths and psychopaths with one goal in mind-greed / money. It gave me chills hearing how cold and calm the murders were carried out. It really bothered me how entitled these people felt they were. I didn't care for Ginger either. She had one goal in mind- her story- regardless of who she dragged down while doing it. As far as justice, I think not. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.
