Emotional
I went through so many emotions listening to this book. Duncan and Rob were low life pathetic men. The rage that went through me listening to Callie’s past made me want to reach in the book and lick them up.
I instantly loved Nikko. He is a real man, the perfect man for Callie. This listen had me on the edge of my seat and Kerri Beevis is a master storyteller!

UGH! PAINFUL!
Honestly, I'm glad its over! The main character made me crazy. No one is that stupid! Whining with her tail between her legs, (like her dog) throughout the whole story! Speaking of her dog, suppose to be a protector. Not even a growl when she is knocked around. As for her friends.. Needs new ones.
****Spoiler alert!! ***** Gave me brain pain every time he locked her in the shed, closet, cage etc. her main thoughts are, how can I better please him! She even said the sex wasn't that great!
Not sure if the author intended on the main character to be in a constant whimper. Became tiresome.

Tough Listen
Intense DV depicted along with a victim/narrator or who is so foolish it’s hard to empathize. Yes of course, tell the man who’s just kicked the shit out of you that you’re going to leave him. Of course he’s going to let you get your car keys and just waltz out the door. Why bother waiting till he’s at work and driving away. Noooo. Or go to your sister who hates you for help instead of driving to your friends and reconciling. The DV descriptions are hard enough to listen to let along the character’s complete idiocy.
I’m about half way though and not sure if I’ll make it to the end. I love this author is other works but this one is a tough read.
