About this listen

When six friends make a pact not to let love get in the way of their careers, the No Brides Club is born. But could meeting the right man at the wrong time cause them to break their vows to each other?

Brooke Collins thought she had everything she wanted. Since relocating from her small town to work as an Oncology Nurse at one of Manhattan’s most respected children’s hospitals, she’s worked hard to make a life for herself in the big city. When a life-threatening emergency takes place back home, every choice she has made in the past three years is suddenly called into question.

As a firefighter, Austin Jensen knows how to handle a fire, but that doesn’t help when dealing with old flames. When his ex comes back to town and old feelings begin to resurface, he begins to wonder if the connection between them is worth risking getting burned again.

Sparks fly in this sweet, second chance romance as Brooke finds new reasons to stay in Lawson Heights and leave her life in the city behind while Austin remains unsure of what their future may be. Should they fan the flames or douse them with water and walk away for good?

Heartwarming story

I was given a copy of this audio book for an honest review. Carrie Coello did a phenomal job narrating this book! I really enjoyed this sweet, clean, second chance romance. The story gives you a very small glimpse into the life of a pediatric oncology nurse. Kudos to Christina Butrum for diving into this topic. Such a heartwarming story that has moments of sadness but focuses more on the positive. This is book #7 in the No Brides Club series but can be read as a stand alone. This was my first introduction to the series & I honestly can’t wait to read the other books in the series. I highly recommend listening to this audiobook (or read it if you aren’t a fan of audiobooks)

Wasn't a fan

This is a sweet and clean read. I had a rather hard time with it though mainly due to Brooke's behavior. I found her to be an angry person (maybe because of her choice 3 years earlier) who treated people rudely. She is a nurse, however, when he own mother is hospitalized, she treats the nurses and doctors disrespectfully and is non apologetic about it.

The narrator did a good job, she definitely brought out Brooke's rude tendencies.

I received a free copy of this book and have voluntarily left this review.

Sweet second chance romance

No Time for Goodbyes is a sweet, engaging, second chance romance. Christina Butrum writes good stories that remind me of good Hallmark movies. This story had a storyline that hit too close to home, and I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to finish it, but I’m glad I did as it has a HEA. The narration was well done, and I listened to this in one sitting.

Second Chance Romance

Brooke left her mom and boyfriend Austin behind in Ohio to pursue her dreams of being an oncology nurse at a children's hospital in NYC. It takes her mother being in a life threatening hospital emergency to make her go back. Austin has always loved her, but he won't leave their hometown and is afraid to fly. He's a good guy, but a bit stubborn about things. They get closer through this crisis, but she's still torn between two worlds. Maybe by leaving and following her dreams it gave her a chance to better appreciate what she had at home. I couldn't work in a children's cancer ward. It would rip my heart out when any of my patients didn't make it. I appreciate the strong hospital staff who do jobs like that every day with a smile. This was a clean romance with sad and funny moments and drama.

The narrator has a clear tone with voice changes and emotional inflections in all right place to keep me interested in listening to the story to the end.

Wonderful story brought to life by a masterful narration.

Christina Butrum writes clean, heartwarming small town romances. Anyone who enjoys sweet second chance romance novels will love No Time for Goodbyes. I enjoyed reading this book and it was a delight to relive the story through the audible version. Carrie Coello does a wonderful job of narrating the book.

Brooke Collins left her home in a small Iowa town to pursue her dream career as an RN in New York City’s best children’s oncology hospital. When she receives an emergency message from Austin Jensen, the man she has loved since grade school, saying that her mother has been rushed to the hospital, she catches the first flight home.

Home...Brooke has built her life in New York. She has a great career and close friends. She is torn between needing to be home taking care of her mother and needing to be in New York to take care of “her children” who are battling cancer. And then there is Austin...Her heart has never forgotten him.

No Time for Goodbyes is a wonderful second chance romance. Christina Butrum has a talent for character and storyline development that makes her books a joy to read. No Time for Goodbyes is Book 7 in the No Brides Club series, but it can be read as a stand alone...but, I definitely recommend reading the whole series. You won’t be disappointed.

Second chances

This is my first Christina Butrum story, and I really enjoyed it. It's a sweet, second chance romance that also gives Brooke a second chance at her life. Not that her life in Manhattan isn't a good one. Brooke is a pediatric oncology nurse, and though she loves her job, it definitely takes an emotional toll on her. When she receives a phone call that her mother has suffered from a stroke, she is on the next plane home to be by her side. Now there, holding her hand, and being with her ex-boyfriend Austin, she is able to re-evaluate her life, her values and what she wants to do. I love small town stories, and Brooke is the perfect character to come back from the big city and enter back into the no secrets, everyone knows everything world. She is a great character, slightly flawed, and confused, and I love how she works through her life plan to figure out what is best for her. Austin is the perfect book boyfriend, always present and up front. The support from her No Brides Club friends just is icing on the cake!

Carrie Coello is a wonderful narrator and I love how she brought this to life. She gave Brooke a slightly jaded, yet very worried attitude when she first arrives, We can feel the push-pull of her very different lives and Coello lets us feel her conflict. I also love her many voices. It's a great performance.

A second chance at love, after pursuing her dream!

She had left the small town, trying to pursue a dream of a nursing career, that she felt she never would have a chance at home. He let her go, although she broke his heart, but knowing he couldn't hold her, from her dreams.
Now, she needed to come back, as her mother needed her. He made the call, and didn't know what would happen next.
Yeah, excellent tale!
