About this listen

An old-fashioned britches-ripper with a tooth and claw twist.

Being the prince of all werewolves sucks.

Almost 10 years ago, I did my duty and married a female even though I was desperately in love with an older man. When she died giving birth to a child who could never take the throne, I ran. I left home, shirking my responsibilities, knowing eventually they’d catch up to me. Well, they have. My father now insists I marry a female half my age so I can father a proper heir and secure our rule over the First House for several more generations.

Being chosen to serve the king is a dream come true.

Even though I grew up poor, I worked hard to support my mother. When my mentor chose me to travel to America with the king, I was unbelievably honored to meet his son, the future ruler of all werewolves. I didn’t know how to react when I first laid eyes on Prince Caster, but he cast a spell over me with a single glance, and my life changed forever. I was not only looking at my future king, but the man made just for me. The moment his lips met mine, I knew this story would end horribly…in either heartache or death.

Denying destiny is a terrible idea.

As desperately as I want to ignore my attraction to the common brown wolf, I cannot. The moment I saw the warm glow of his amber eyes, the need to take him into my arms and drag him off to my bed was overwhelming. Alas, I have a duty to perform, and it doesn’t involve the man Mother Nature made only for me.

This story won’t end well…I just know it.

Night of the Blood Red Moon is a paranormal gay romance with an HEA ending.

Exciting new series starter; fittingly narrated!

Wow! Ms. Logan packed quite a bit into this new series starter.
A wolf prince who has to marry to continue his line, (said prince already has an heir, but there are issues) and a servant who thinks he has no hope of finding his mate - this is the situation for Caster and Emory respectively.
Throw in some arrogant and/or jerk characters, a good sister, a sweet child and the oh so funny agony aunt column that starts each chapter, and you have a really good story. I loved that the characters were ethnically/culturally diverse.
Though it's a spinoff, it stands well on its own.

John Solo is a good addition to the overall enjoyment of the story. He brings the different characters to life, but really excels with the slightly snarky responses in the agony aunt column. Listening to his responses made me laugh!
John Solo is a really good performer and this is a great book to showcase his talents!
Enjoyed it!

Bodice ripper is a good descriptor

I had fun with the cast - really enjoyed the multiple shifter/paranormal selection
This had a bit of suspense, some light angst, and some steamy smexy moments

Emery comes across as not quite observant? naive?
I could list a paragraph of descriptors for him
Truly likable is my favorite
He is so devoted to his duties it is adorable
lol
Caster is a touch self-absorbed in my opinion -
How he viewed his own child - who he has not interacted with since birth
Sure you are a prince but you should be a touch more...
IDK - You had me wanting to knock you down a peg or two a few times

Despite all the hurdles, jealousies, and class differences, our two do get their HEA
But at a price, it seems
This does not end on a cliff hanger but it is the first in series

I listened to this in Audio after having read the book version
I probably should have done it the other way around because I had a bit of trouble with how the narrator voiced the characters with how I had envisioned them - I know not the narrators' fault just a heads up - the same idea as watching a movie based on a book you read - never lives up to your imagination
That being said ...

Not enough story

I liked this book. It isn’t as riveting as the other series. Not as funny. Don’t get me wrong though. I still lived it. John Solo is great as he reads these characters. Well defined with his voice bringing to life everyone of the characters.

Great story and great audio performance!

I read the ebook of this story just a little over one month ago and I loved it. I knew then that the audiobook was coming and I couldn’t wait to listen to it. It took a while longer to release than expected but it’s here now and I started listening to it as soon as I received my review code.

I’m a huge fan of John Solo’s audio performances and he didn’t disappoint me on this one. He truly is a voice actor and the various voices he used for the many different characters sounded great to me. I hope the rest of this series comes to audio.

Prosper Woods Wolves is a spin-off of her Prosper Woods Chronicles series. It might enhance your enjoyment of this book if you’ve at least read the prequel, True Knight and book one, True Mate from that series. I’ve read those two books but not the other ones in the series. While I could tell that there was a bit of backstory that I was missing, I had enough information from reading the prequel and book one that I wasn’t lost.

With the above information out of the way, I’ve got to say that this is a really fantastic book. There were times that I was totally on the edge of my seat and other times that I was totally enchanted with some of the characters.

Prince Caster was a bit of jerk at times but he was often caught between a rock and a hard place. The one thing that was hard to forgive him for was how he treated his son, but by the end of the book all was forgiven. Emory was always delightful and I loved his devotion to his duties. He can’t quite comprehend that he and Prince Caster are fated mates.

A copy of this audiobook was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

Really good story

First off I did not listen to any other books pertaining to this one. started off a little slow but definitely got better. Prince Caster is kind of a jerk, he turned his back on his son and his fated mate. Emory is a sweet soft spoken, kind hearted wolf. the story actually keeps your attention once it gets going. Unicorns, vampires and of course Wolves. John Solo did a good job bringing all of the characters to life. He made this story way more entertaining. Then there's Crabby, giving the Most hilarious advice you will ever hear. definitely a lot of LOL moments. Hopefully, the rest of the series is just as entertaining as this one. In the end I think it all works out the way it should. in my opinion, this really good story is well written and worth the credit and your time to listen.

fantastic spin off!

This is a fantastic spin off in the Prosper Woods Universe. In this story we get Caster’s story and it was fantastic. Full in intrigue, danger and family, some found and some real. Prince Caster married a woman and a had a child in the name of duty, but she died in childbirth. Caster is betrothed again. He meets Emory, a servant for Caster’s father when he arrives. Caster is enamored with Emory. I received the opportunity to listen to audio version of the story also. John Solo did a great job with the narration! Overall, fantastic!

Entertaining!

3.5 Stars

Night of the Blood Red Moon is the first book in the Prosper Woods Wolves series, a spin-off from the Prosper Woods Chronicles.

My favorite part were the posts to the advice column at the start of each chapter, they were so much fun!

Emory was a sweetheart, a little too innocent, but still adorable. I found it very hard to like Prince Caster or feel any sympathy for him being in a situation that was pretty much of his own making. Emory and Caster were good together, and Caster got better by the end of the book, but I thought Emory deserved more. *shrugs*

Oliver, Caster's son, was a delightful surprise. On the other hand, Theo was horrible and I was glad he got his comeuppance.

The audiobook was entertaining, and while there were some voices that weren't to my liking, I felt John Solo did a good job with the story as a whole.

If you liked the Prosper Woods Chronicles, you'll probably enjoy this book as well.

Fast pace and fun

I really loved this story. So much I listened in one day. I just couldn’t seem to find a stopping point.

I loved all of of the characters. I loved the storyline.
I will definitely be looking for more in this series!

I liked the narration and the accents especially Tao ( I hope I spelled it right) just the right amount of sexy and evil.
It was easy to follow and pleasant to listen to.
