About this listen

Bride McTierney has had it with men. They're cheap, self-centered, and never love her for who she is. But though she prides herself on being independent, deep down she still yearns for a knight in shining armor.

She just never expected her knight in shining armor to have a shiny coat of fur...

Deadly and tortured, Vane Kattalakis isn't what he seems. Most women lament that their boyfriends are dogs. In Bride's case, hers is a wolf. A Were-Hunter wolf. Wanted dead by his enemies, Vane isn't looking for a mate. But the Fates have marked Bride as his. Now he has three weeks to either convince Bride that the supernatural is real or he will spend the rest of his life neutered--something no self-respecting wolf can accept...

But how does a wolf convince a human to trust him with her life when his enemies are out to end his? In the world of the Were-Hunters, it really is dog-eat-dog. And only one alpha male can win.

Overall the story was great and it's one of my favorites... but dear gods, how many times did she have to use the word "masculine" as an adjective. Now, my reaction to the word "masculine" is the same for people who dislike the word "moist."

It was fine until I realized how much the word

I do enjoy this book series. Always a fun listen that has its fill of excitement. I does have the typical cliche with the defenseless woman...which I have an issue with. But, I do love the endings.

Fun Listen

vane might be my favorite of the series, and to have a plus size heroine is so refreshing.

very romantic

I think this is my fav so far of the series. I like how Kenyon put in an overweight, or full figured woman instead of the typical stick figure perfect body woman finding the perfect body man and fall in love etc...
I love Fred Berman as the narrator, him and Holter Graham sound so familiar that it's great they both narrate the series.

Worth a credit - yes

Happy Reading/Listening!!!

Was expecting same formula but much better!

This is one of my favorites in the series. Vane is so sweet. Of course, I love them bad boys and he was right up my alley. I like the back-story of how they became half human/animal or visa versa, a unique story.

Yummy.

Good book, a little predictable and not enough of Ash's little demon baby (who I love) but good

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. Interesting and fun.

What did you like best about this story?

The story felt real. Complex characterization.

Which character – as performed by Fred Berman – was your favorite?

I had to like Furry. Her veterinarian father was intriguing. Snotty sister a close third. Come to think of it many of the secondary characters were interesting.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It was sweet, straightforward and endearing. I'm not a sentimentalist and often roll my eyes over sappy story lines.

Any additional comments?

My first book by this author. Bought it on sale because it looked light and fun. it was that but more. It's a "feel good" book without being sugary or simplistic. Story had a few twists and turns. Characters were developed and dimensional. Delivered a solid good story that was well written. Don't overlook this one if you like a straightforward story that does not leave you feeling depressed or icky. The whole fantasy supernatural thing supported the plot and was not the main feature. It was a simple and charming love story with a bit of adventure and intrigue tossed in. Really good for driving or doing chores. I liked it and you don't need to enjoy this genre to find the story charming.

Was expecting fluff and got substance! Good story.

I love Ms Kenyon’s books but this didn’t do it for me. There was a lot of focus on Bride’s size 18 body that just slapped me into reality. It was a constant mention and I had to stop the book and return it. It was fine at first, but Bride constantly harped about it it and Vane constantly reassured her. Don’t know why but it made me annoyed.

Not my thing
