intersting mix

This is an interesting mix of Western and vampire genres. I enjoyed the story and the play of different viewpoints on what is morally right. The narration was good but a bit heavy on the accents.

I hope that there will be a series of sequels on this story as it seemed a bit short.

Disappointing

A Doc Holiday wanna be. Do not waste a credit on a 3 hour book that offers nothing new. It has good "guy" vs bad guy and a gun fight. Bad guy causes havoc and the town needs a savior.

Jack Talon is a carbon copy of Doc Holiday. Gary plagiarized the characteristics of Doc.
Gary just threw a vampire in a story of a gun slinger with tuberculosis who has a sense of honor. Like Doc, Jack can draw his gun faster even in a fit of coughing. Like Doc, Jack will never kill a man in cold blood.

He did not even do anything original with the vampire lore. No sun, needs a day man to run errands, decapitate the vamp's head for permanent death. He even included what every "honorable" vampire says about walking/seeing a sun rise.

Like I said it was a rip off.

I was extremely disappoint especially because I liked Jonathan Shade.

I don't know what the Amazon reviewers were thinking in giving this 5 stars. I will not depend on the Amazon reviews in deciding to buy a book.
