About this listen

Dean Parker thought he was going to coast into retirement. He was wrong.

Things have slowed down for Dean and Mary as they manage the expanding human colonies on Haven, New Spero, and Earth - until they receive a distress call from the Keppe.

Magnus and Natalia are in the midst of a three-year exploration mission on the alien vessel, but mysteriously vanish with less than a year left to go.

The portals are failing, making the journey more arduous, and when the crew finally think they know what’s happening, they realize they are also stranded.

Join the journey as Dean Parker fights to rescue old friends while forging forward with the Alliance of Worlds.

The epic Survivors story continues with New Alliance, a brand-new adventure with familiar faces.

Best one yet

I have been listening to the series and have enjoyed each book. This book has Marc Vietor as the voice actor, and I always enjoy his reading. The book starts off with a gatekeeper ceremony on Haven. It is interrupted by some unknown ship approaching Haven and Dean has to intercept it. A garbled message comes from Magnus, who is on a mission to discover new worlds, he is trapped with a ship full of people, and his family. Dean puts together a team to try and rescue them, but they have to deal with some problems along the way. The use the portal and find that the stones are dying and they are sent to the wrong place and are stranded.

New Narrator

I've been enjoying these books and just wanted to give people a heads up so they're not surprised by the different voice like I was. Took a while to get used to, but he did a pretty good job of continuing in the same style.

Uh oh ! ?

Luke Daniels is one of the greatest narrators on Audible ! His performance in the Event is Spectacular ! Switching narrators is as appalling as switching not 1 , but all of a cast of a show , and continuing on as if nothing happened. Not impossible. Simply horrifying.

Here the switch takes time , yet is subtle enough, similar enough , distinct to the right degree, that this almost impossible transition occurs without lasting damage. Over time , I have grown to admire the new narrative.

How's the book ? You ask.
Fantastic as always. A must read continuation, leading to the next in the series. This newest encounter will only encourage me to keep listening.

New Alliance

Enjoying the series overall but the last reading left me a little short as far as the way he read it it seem like he was reading it out of a book or office script instead of feeling it more.

Deans adventures continue

Well the adventures of Dean and Mary continue, with a few shocks along the way. One that Dean didn't expect, and one that we the readers didn't expect. recommended

Narration

You should keep the same narrator for all your books. It helps to keep the flow together.

Well....

I like the book series however the narrator..well, he's okay but he doesn't have the energy level that the other narrator.
I just wish you never change it, It's kind of difficult to get back into the story.

LUKE!! Where are you?!

Audible, you have got to stop changing narrators mid-way through a book series! It ruins the dynamic of the characters. The characters feel lost to me now as all people emphasize parts and accents differently. It's like I have to relearn all the characters again. Not that Marc Vietor was bad. Had Marc been reading this from the beginning, I'd have been perfectly fine. He just isn't Luke Daniels. I was so invested in this series but, this will be the last one I get.
