Publisher's summary

A USA Today best seller.

A wallflower who guards her secrets

Miss Polly Kent has no illusions about finding love. Not only is she a wallflower, but her freakish ability to read others’ emotions has led to devastating rejection, time and again.

When it comes to her future, she knows that a marriage of convenience, one in which she can keep her secret affliction hidden, is the only safe choice. Yet, when fate throws her into the path of the ton’s wildest rake, she discovers that desire can jeopardize the most carefully laid plans.

A rake who makes no apologies for his past

Sinjin Pelham, the Earl of Revelstoke and heir to a duke, has a reputation darker than London’s fog. His exploits have made him the envy of men and the desire of women, but behind his wild and jaded façade lies a painful secret.

He knows that no woman can love the devil inside him, yet when he is accused of a ghastly crime, the only one who stands by him is a beautiful virgin - one whose wanton innocence makes him long for the one thing he cannot have.

When good and wicked make perfect

A marriage that begins with smoldering passion soon deepens into something more. All the while, a dangerous enemy lurks, waiting to strike. As Sinjin and Polly untangle the threads of mystery to clear his name, they must confront their greatest fears, risking all for their love and their very lives.

Not bad

This book wasn't bad but I hate the fact that he took her virginity on a balcony at a ball. I thought that was ridiculous. Other then that it was good.

Repetitive but entertaining

I love this series… except for the s€x scenes which are practically identical from one book to the next. I find myself forwarding past those scenes. It was great in the first book, ok in the second, but a little bit silly by the third….

However the narration is great, the books are fun and they are creditworthy.

Great story

This ended up being one of my favorite books, there was never a lull or a dull moment. Very entertaining, I laughed out loud and smiled throughout the book. The steam was perfect!

Not as bad as reviews suggested

There were a lot of bad reviews for this title. I was hesitant to listen because of them but I’m glad I did. I think a lot of people are uncomfortable when it comes to mental health and they can’t see past extreme emotions. Syngin struggles with extreme highs and lows. honestly, I like the fact that there is a character with whom you can relate to if you suffered from depression or anxiety. I like the fact that poly saw through his haze of emotions to the real him inside.
I enjoyed all of the exciting facets of the story. There was laughter, there was pain, and of course there was some hot steamy scenes.
This book was a little more serious than others in the series, but definitely worth it.

Tied for my favorite Grace Callaway book

I enjoy this audiobook. The story of Polly and Sinjin is great and the chemistry off the charts. I love how their relationship grew and how they brought out the best in each other. Also great that the story included characters from previous books. This audiobook is on my repeat list.

TG the series picked back up!!

The last few books in the series for me seemed to be on a progressive downward slide and I considered not finishing but boy am I glad I stuck to it! This one picked back up for me and had all the entertainment, development and steam the others had been missing! I finished the last two in this series back to back over a weekend of cleaning and they did not disappoint! Highly recommend for fans of the series!

Terrible-no real story

This story was a waste of time. It is the stereotype of what people think of romance novels..soft core porn. This is a perfect example of this awful description.
From the start where the hero is mastrabating, the only connection is a series of public and some private sex acts. I enjoy a sex scene, but it can't be the only thing that moves the story along. I understand that physical beauty is important, but it seems like the most important thing at the beginning of the story.
Everything about the H/H seems so contrived. Even her belief that she is plain. Knowing the characters of her sisters from the previous books, it's hard to believe that she did not have a stronger character. She also appears to be too nieve after dealing with her early life and the detective work of her family. All of this makes the story problematic.
The author spends a lot of time on the sex scenes, but glances over some of the most interesting parts of the plot...like yada-yada-yada, and then there is the conclusion. The relationship of father/son is the key aspect of the story, but is never developed so that there is a deep understanding of why they behave as they do. Also the hero does not have any friends, which seems odd.
Don't waste your time or money on this one. If you really want to fill the time just reread another book.

This book was just not doing it for me.

I don’t know what it was but the main characters were not a match to me. The whole aura thing with Polly was not believable to me. There should have been more to it. Then there is Rosie, man 🙆🏾‍♀️ The girl was the most annoying character in the book... the book was very stereotypical
