About this listen

What’s a girl to do when a hot stranger appears in her vacation cabin? Run. Probably. Or....

I had it all planned out. A perfect getaway, in a perfect forest locale, with my perfect boyfriend. It should’ve been...perfect.

Until he breaks up with me, leaving me all alone when a stranger walks in on me post-shower, getting a too-good look at my bare backside.

I’m embarrassed and scared, but the bear spray might’ve been a bit overkill. Especially since this AirBnB mix-up is turning out to be the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Maybe.

Cole Harrington is grumpy and mysterious, grunting out one-word answers and definitely keeping secrets. But he’s also got blue eyes that don’t miss a thing, broad shoulders that carry the weight of the world, and a smile you have to work for. And he seems to hate everyone...but me. He even volunteers to be my fake boyfriend for my cousin-slash-nemesis’s wedding.

And that’s when things really go wrong. Or right?

I just have to keep reminding myself...it’s all fake and very temporary. Don’t fall for him, even if he’s infinitely more lovable than he thinks he is. Especially when he kisses me fiercely and deeply and possessively.

So, yeah...totally fake.

Until he shows up at my house. Which is a total stalkerish red flag, right? But it doesn’t feel like one. It feels like I’m...his. Probably.

Never Fall For The Fake Boyfriend is an interconnected stand-alone romance with a happily ever after.

Loved this book!

This book had my attention the whole way through. Loved the story and romance. The male narrator was amazing, I could listen to his voice all day every day. The female was good, but didn’t think she was right for this character in the book.

Cute grumpy sunshine

Cole is your typical grump who keeps everyone at arms length who fades into the background even with his. family. Janey is the open hearted, non confrontational person who tries to see the good in everything & is her family's punching bag. These 2 cross paths in a mix up which they both needed. They help each other with their families him being there gor her when she is
being attacked by her family & her being his biggest cheerleader when talking to his family about him.

Nice Story

Has a lot of inner dialog and inner conflict going on. This is a cute, fun story but all that inner dialog/angst was a little repetitive for me on both MCs. Also, there are a lot of characters and that ends up being too much to follow sometimes. Maybe that's my current state of mind though.
I did enjoy this story but wouldn't reread it.

Cole & Janey!

I needed a Lauren Landish book. Her versatility with humor and romance is one of the things I love most about her writing and this one is packed with laugh out loud moments as well as a little angst and a lot of love. Janey is on a short vacation for a family wedding. Settling in to her cottage, she is surprised to find a man at the door saying he was staying there! Now the two have to figure out a way to share, as Cole really needs this spot to do surveillance for a job. The two find a common ground and though there is a spark of attraction, Janey has a boyfriend. At least she did before the phone call. Now stuck without a date to the wedding, she is dreading dealing with her parents and cousins. Cole comes to her rescue, and in a flash, the two are a fake couple. And our story really begins! Landish has given me so many great listens and this is not exception. I love the characters, the way they interact and have each other's backs, the family elements, both crazy and loving and the budding relationship Cole and Janey find. It's a pleasure to hear it and an all out good time.

Tor Thom and Fiona Clare are the story tellers for this fantastic story and bring all the humor and feels to the book. Cole is a bit of a broody grump and Thom plays him perfectly! To Cole's opposite is Janey's sunshine! Clare brings out the fast talking conversationalist, making her realistic and true to form. Loved this performance and their portrayal of this fun story!

I got the set

The first book was good but the last two I couldn’t listen to… both were boring and the female narration was so annoying… I tried to speed up or slow it down but nothing helped. The three books were 1) V card 2) good with his hands 3) good to be bad. In good to be bad you can listen to the male narrator Tor Tom he’s excellent.

Not what I was hoping for

I listened to the audio version- maybe I would have liked it better if I read it? It was just boring. I kept seeing ads for this book and ignored it several times, then I saw it came out in audio so I have it a shot …. It wasn’t worth the $7.49 I paid for the audiobook. The part from the ads was probably the most interesting part. It was about two people that had crappy self esteem because of their family life (and previous boyfriend) - who found each other and then helped each other with their family struggles….. it was like a boring self help book. Audio did no favors to this book either. There is some spice, but nothing memorable even as I write this an hour after I finished the book.
