About this listen

The Academy has always been the home of fallen angels and haunted humans, but that is about to change. Hunter and Kayla, the immortal and the Nephilim, find themselves trapped in a place that they hate with beings that they do not trust. Inside the Academy they are surrounded by fallen ones - the screw-ups. Outside, the Academy is surrounded by demons and ghosts who are trying to get in, including an incubus who has a history of tormenting Kayla.

As Kayla is forced to learn about what she is...about what she was born to do. Hunter only has one thing in mind. Hunter wants to get Kayla out of the Academy, but leaving the Academy's protection will put everything and everyone at risk - themselves included. In this world, there is a reason why the Fallen ones are getting a second chance. They are all that is left to protect the human race!

The story is good

I listened to the audiobook at a faster rate...
The narrator is the same one as the previous book. I really wish this narrator would differentiate her voice so that we can distinguish the different characters.

In this book both Kayla and Hunter are at the academy. Kayla learns who her biological father is. Eeekk!! She also learns more about who she is and what she can do. The story gets better in the second book.

Good continuation

Kayla and Hunter are now at the academy and Kayla is starting to understand more about herself and who she is. She gets to meet new people and understand more about how she can do what she can do and who people are. Kayla continues to grow in this book and continue to figure out more of what she believes is right.

Story was good but narrator was terrible!

This book series (so far) is a good book for teenagers however, if you're listening to it via Audible then you might think about reading it instead. She is awful! All of her voices are exactly the same! You couldn't tell the men from the women. Ugh....it was depressing.

Loving the story

Daniele has beautifully written the second book in her series. I loved how the character are introduced and how Kayla is growing into her own person and abilities. I just wish the narration was different.

This is a great series to listen too. It kept me entertained and was a great way to escape reality.
