When I read a short story I enjoy, I wish it were longer. I would have liked to examine a whole novel of NATURAL SELECTION.

Loved the main character's growth.
The book's short story format provided thorough development of the main character, Sophia. She is depicted as a real person – flawed but resilient and lovable. The vivid description of the Galápagos Islands has sparked my interest in visiting the location. Additionally, the portrayal of the disappointing accommodations on the boat was refreshingly believable. The final lesson about adapting left a lasting impression on me, making for a great ending to the story.

Too predictable
The reader gave it all she had to give and EH gave us some of her great internal dialogue which scratched the itch. but…. this story reads like a quick update with a few insta references added to an old draft, with 100% stereotyped characters and fully telegraphed plot not-twists. Elin, I’ve read a ton of your books and won’t stop. This story snack maybe will bring some new readers to her other far superior books.

Wonderful short story by Elin!
I loved listening to this story, performed by the magnificent Erin Bennett.
Elin Hildebrand does an excellent job of writing in details about the sights and sounds that her characters are experiencing, as well as the feelings and emotions they have during the course of the timeline of the book.
It was fun and different to take this trip to the Galapagos with Sophia and her boat mates.
I loved the ending. I’m never disappointed by the way Elin ends her novels.

Beach read
A great quick short story! Love Elon’s story and this one takes us to the Galápagos Islands. Sophia feels she has met the love of her life JP and they are taking a trip down to the islands for his work as a photographer. He gets a phone call as the plane is boarding and has to leave due to family issue at home. This felt like it would be such a great lead up for some crazy thriller! Sophia takes the trip as JP told her too and makes some friends along the way! I need more to this story! It reminded me of her paradise series.
