About this listen

The man of dreams is too good for my sister.

But I played by the rules. I stepped aside. I honored their sham of a marriage and watched a good man rot while my sister destroyed him from within.

But then...my sister went missing.

So I saved her husband's life. I loved him like he was my own. And I protected him from the truth.

I had to do it. You would've done the same.

No, just no.

(This review contains spoilers)

I kept waiting for the twist that never came. The characters are so unrealistic and selfish and delusional that I was 100% sure that at least two of them were the same person (multiple personalities). Not the case, and it would have been SO much more interesting if they were. The performances are good, but they can’t redeem the plot that can’t seem to make you sympathize with any of the characters. The time, place, and atmosphere are so vague and unestablished that I just kept waiting to find out it was all inside Opal or Naomi’s head. (Also- Opal? How is that NOT a name somebody made up for their extra persona?)

I really enjoyed Hargrove’s other novel, Sick Girl. Super disappointed with this one.

lots of twists and turns

Rachel Hargrove has done a great job with this book. It's a real page Turner or in this case a keep listening. You just can't stop with all the twists and turns to see what happens next. Curt Bonnem and Laurie Catherine Winkle I feel are a big part of the success to this book their have tons of feeling in their reading of the book. This was my first book by the author and narrator but I will be looking for more by all 3 of them.

I received this book at my request and chose to leave this review.

Dead or Alive? Murder or Suicide?

This genre is my typical style and I was looking forward to listening to the audio version. The plotline revolves around two sisters, Naomi an artist and celebrity, Opal who lives in her sisters shadow and Naomis husband, Jay. Naomi is a narcissist who has a stalker. Opal is in love with her sisters husband. Jay is the husband who wants out of his marriage. I found the characters and storyline quite confusing and couldnt really connect with either. I thought that both narrators did an excellent job. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

My sister's lies

I found this book played with my mind a little.
Its amazing what some people will do to have their 10 minutes of fame. I found the way Naomi treats Opal and Jay disgusting. She treats Opal like her maid and something that is worthy of wiping her shoe on, as for Jay...Naomi & Jay have been married for years & yet he seems to have become a shell of a man so that his wife can make a name for herself.
I am however a little confused...first off...how can sisters treat each other that way...one minute there is mourning going on & then next they want to murder each other! Jay...he has me even more confused...he wants a divorce from Naomi, then Naomi is "murdered" and hes devastated, then he finds her again & hes miserable yet when shes really murdered he mourns her like a husband in love does & retraces his memories with her. Hes mad that Opal lied to him & yet he stays with her. I realize there is a child now but...I don't understand...& this book that Opal writes & Jay hates...wouldn't Opal have to get some information from Jay in order to write this book? & why is he so angry about a book...his wife displayed his whole life in an art gallery for everyone to see...how much worse could a book make it?

I received this book free for an honest review...

I'm confused. Happy Reading!

Ew

Couldn’t get through it. Horrible narration and the stupidest plot I’ve read to date. Returning it
