I really enjoy this you're sexy smart and entertained.
I thought the narrator did fabulous.

Great Romance

I really liked the character development in this book. This is the second book in the series. they can be both read/listened to as standalone. This book starts before the first book and ends with the marriage of the. outlet in Book 1. The characters and their own personal challenges were very well written and plausible. Unlike what you may think, this isn't necessarily the fake-fiance trope. Yes, they pretend to be together, but they were essentially dating with a quick escape clause.

Didn't like Nate.

This is a lovely story about a sexy veterinarian, still filled with sorrow after the death of his fiancée, and the woman whose patience, more than anything, saves him. Nate is a sweet, determined man whose veterinary clinic is just getting a foothold. Lauren is a part-time model and trained as a psychologist. She has her own practice and it appears to be her calling. When sparks fly between Lauren and Nate, he is tempted but not yet ready to love another woman. I quickly grew weary of Nate's "woe is me," attitude and the self-pity had become an entrenched part of his miserable life. He was mean, selfish, heartless and he didn't come across as a mature man. I am happy that Lauren got her happy ending and that the family unit became that much bigger.
The narration was wonderfully done and her dynamic voice brought the characters to life.

Loved it !! this story. the narrator is so fantastic it's like your really there!! After listening to this story,. I totally enjoyed reading this book. It’s well written and the characters were uniquely fantastic. I would suggest this book to my friends that like this sort of genera. this was a good book. The narration was great.

heavy issues, 2nd love, heart break

Lauren and Nate were both in agreement to enter into a fake relationship. Nate wanted to get his family off his back after losing his fiancé to cancer a few years before. Lauren could see his pain and his appeal from across a crowded cookout. She was willing to do whatever to have a chance with Nate, but she was not willing to cheapen herself. She went into things with the mind set of this being a possible love interest. Life happens and time passes by. They spend six months in a fake relationship with all the real benefits of a friendship.

Lauren was a psychologist and model. She had a love of helping other. Through her work she was good at reading people and wanting to help just came naturally for her. Lauren did the same thing for Nate. She could almost feel the pain coming off of him. She wanted to help. She needed the time to do that. With the relationship she could get to know more about him and what was bothering him.

Nate was a man on a mission. He was determined to not let anyone in. But he failed. Lauren was coming in through the cracks. Things get a little too real for him and he tells Lauren then need to see other people. Pushing her away before he became to attached to her. That was well and good if you would have done it before. But alas he was too late. Then something not on either of their radars happen. Lauren needs an escape and time. Time to heal. Time to understand.

Can she convince him to take a second chance on love? That love is worth the risk? Or will this all be too late for them both.

Erika Annette this was my first encounter with a solo project with you. I could relate but was jut looking for something more. More of a male presence. I felt a few of the characters sounded the same. This was my first with Bonnie Phelps also. I enjoyed the story. The depths and layers. The time lapses were an issue for me. Some were fast, then slow. Then in no time six month went by.
