About this listen

She films her truth. He rocks the mic. Can two artists collaborate on the passion project of a lifetime?

Desta captures the best of the world through her camera lens. But when her two-timing boyfriend breaks her heart, the film student heads to Paris to rekindle her wounded optimism. An uplifting concert sweeps her mind away, and the mesmerizing rapper on stage seems to speak directly to her soul.

Marcus vows to spread a positive message with his upbeat flow. After one too many dead-end relationships, he plans on ditching the distraction until he meets the alluring Desta. Struck speechless by her passion and drive, he agrees to feature his mission in her documentary and secretly hopes to capture her heart.

As their irresistible attraction heats up behind-the-scenes, his grueling tour schedule threatens to permanently pull them apart.

Can Desta and Marcus put their pasts behind them to start a brand new beginning?

My Light: An African American Romance is the first stand-alone book in a series inspired by hip-hop songs. If you like simmering chemistry, driven characters, and Black love in motion, then you’ll enjoy Ebony Rose’s soulful novel.

Great Story!

This was my first time reading something by this author. She did not disappoint. I got the book because of the narrators. Sean and Eboni always come through and bring the characters to life. I will be on the lookout for this author again.

Your Light is My Light

I enjoyed the simplicity of the story but it was wholesome, honest, and sweet. I loved the characters. I also loved the narrators. They did a great job. You could experience what they were feeling. This is the second book by this author who is now my new favorite author. Keep these books coming…❤️❤️❤️

Great story and performance

This was my introduction to author Eboni Rose and I was impressed and will definitely be reading/listening to more of her work. I felt that Eboni Flowers and Sean Crisden did an amazing job bringing Desta and Marcus to life. I was immediately drawn into the story and rooting for their personal success and their romance. I definitely recommend this listen.

Good book female narrator okay

I enjoyed the book especially since the male narrator did all the male parts and the female narrator did all the female parts. I just wish that the female narrator would put more emotions while she performing. It sounds like a fifth grader reading their book report. She has the potential to be great like Wesleigh she just has to put in the work
