Acerca de esta escucha

Award-winning Civil Rights advocate Mary Frances Berry sheds new light on the fight for reparations. Callie House, an ex-slave who led the fight, founded the Ex-Slave Mutual Relief, Bounty, and Pension Association in 1899. Defying conventions of race, class, and gender, Callie led the organization in an attempt to petition the government for the pension promised them as freedmen.©2005 Mary Frances Berry (P)2006 Recorded Books,LLC Afroamericano Américas Cultural y Regional Derecho Estados Unidos Histórico Mujeres Derechos civiles Igualdad

This books explores the early history of the modern reparations movement. The book is well researched, well written, and provides an important historical record for Americans with an interest in supporting reparations for slavery. Over all, a great read!

Important history that too often is untold

Very informative on the American Freedmen fight for Reparations in the United States. Marcus Gravey nor the RBG flag should've been mentioned given he was working with the KKK to remove us from the land our Ancestors built. He was NOT fighting for Reparations for the American Freedmen, he was advancing the gov't and WS interest of Negro Removal.
