About this listen

The regulars at Mack's Bar love putting their heads together to solve a good mystery. But Mack is learning there's a big difference between barroom brain teasers and real-life murder....

Milwaukee bar owner Mackenzie "Mack" Dalton has a unique neurological condition that gives her extra perceptive senses, and police detective Duncan Albright is convinced Mack's abilities can be used to help catch crooks. Mack may be at pro at mixing drinks, but she's still an amateur when it comes to solving crimes - and she's not sure she should mix business with pleasure by working with a man who stirs up such strong feelings in her.

At her first crime scene - a suspicious suicide - she experiences a heady cocktail of mixed sensations and emotions that make her question whether police work is right for her. But when Duncan asks her to help find a kidnapped child, she knows she has to give it a shot....

Murder with a Twist

Excellent story line. Kept you involved to figure out the riddles and puzzles and who done it. Great narration. Very fluid with each character.

Very Long

The story was a good one but could have gotten to the point quicker. Not sure if I am going to continue the series

Story: Murder with a Twist

I enjoyed the storyline and was impressed with the ending. It will be interesting to see how it's solved in the next book. I also enjoy the way the characters get along and are from different backgrounds and occupations.

Annoying FMC

FMC started annoying me so bad.. wish washy indecisive. Then the fact her and Duncan are supposedly seeing each other but not sure if they are “together” so now he’s just going to keep his distance makes me think less of him now.. the author has given the FMC a weak character with severe self confidence issues.. I’m sure at some point Duncan’s ex will come back in the picture not sure if I want to continue

Very interesting

Various story lines made sense and kept me interested rather than ending up in a tangled mess. Loved the narration and the characters.

Love this light hearted mystery!

Enjoyed the novel approach to solving mysteries by Mac even though her methods were not understood by many.
By the end of the book, I was able to not only understand her methods, but believed in them.
I only wish they could have been real.
Having been married to a lawman, officer, for many years it would have been much easier to have that kind of ability or something similar..
Instead, everything was done the old fashioned way.
I truly enjoyed this book and it kept my attention throughout!

Voices

The reader is absolutely a five-star voice actress! And the story is pretty great. Usually I go for British cozy mysteries but this series has captured my interest.

The way she perceived her surroundings.

I do like how her wires are crossed so she tastes what she hears and here's what she tastes sometimes the unique manner. the story was very interesting and kept me enthralled until the end. I like how the main character this time wasn't a person had a bunch of family everywhere. that everything always works out for him. she's more realistic to people in this culture. On a complete tangent I would like to see how she would react to acid. cuz some say that is what as it does to you in the first place is that it crosses your sensors. so they need to do like a side book. Side of ventures where she does acid. I would read it.

Great story

I liked the character development and the different approach to tracking down a killer through the use of Mack's unique gifts
