About this listen
Sue receives a death threat, and someone intends to follow through on it…
Aspen Notch, a picturesque small town in the Pocono Mountains of northeast Pennsylvania, has very little crime, according to the mayor.
Yet something sinister lies beneath the surface.
Sue and Alan expect to enjoy the mountain vistas and a restful retirement in their new home, until the mayor offers Alan the job of police chief, the only cop in town, and Sue finds a dead body at the pizza shop.
Can Sue help Alan solve the crime before the killer makes good on the warning?
Murder in Aspen Notch is a cozy mystery of new beginnings and mysteries of the past, intertwined with an engaging whodunnit. If you enjoy a touch of romance and an amateur sleuth who has an uncanny ability to make connections, you’ll love Kathleen McKee’s first book of the Aspen Notch Mystery Series.

Story
I was so excited to welcome Anastasia Drummond to our pretty little street. But the moment I meet her, my heart stops. Because I know those ice-cold eyes. She looks like my husband’s ex-wife. The one who went missing. The one declared dead over a decade ago.

Couple in 60s sleuth in small town
Well developed characters and interactions as story unfolds in small town. Can relate to age of characters and their thoughts and responses to life events. Don't mind the AI narration. Fits pace of story and catches main character.

Pleasant cozy mystery!
Characters that you would enjoy knowing in real life. Just enough tension to keep interest.
The virtual narrator is the best I have encountered so far!

Horrible narration!
I wanted to try this for the AI factor. There is no emotion, the voice never varies, even after stumbling over a murder victim or getting in a car accident. Didn’t finish the book.
