Publisher's summary

When Maecidion dies, the reading of the will is an outrage. Irion, the dead necromancer's kin, watches as coveted heirlooms are given to his enemies. Himself no stranger to black magic, Irion soon embarks on a bitter skirmish to retrieve what should rightfully be his.

A composite novel: Tinged with traces of horror and humor, erotica and satire, the world of Mulgara plays host to an ensemble of dark characters. Not only necromancers, but grave robbers, thieves, and a bubbly witch, all caught in a web of friend or foe, and through their tales, Maecidion's plan is ultimately revealed.

Dark, gritty, hilarious, and fun. Unmatched prose in a fantastic horror-fantasy world.

Mulgara was a fun journey! The book was short and broken up into three distinct stories which intertwined to build a cruel, cold, fun, and imaginative horror-fantasy world. The use of magic in the book was creative and unique. Rose’s prose is incredible, especially in the most crude parts of the book, testifying to his background as an overseas scholar and US Marine. I recommend Mulgara to any adult looking for a weekend literary adventure into this unique and brilliant fantasy world. I have a feeling we will be seeing more of the Mulgara world. On the audible version, the reader’s voice is pleasant and he does a great job managing the different characters.

Unique and interesting way of telling a story

Seemingly unrelated stories are told, bringing to life unscrupulous characters and fascinating exploits, to weave an interesting tale taking place in the city of Mulgara. I genuinely liked the vignettes of each group of characters and how they loosely intertwined with each other. There are no good guys in this book. And possibly no good endings, depending on what you call good. The narrator does a great job (I'd recommend speed 1.0) and the story is genuinely interesting. If you're a fan of short stories that vaguely relate to each other and that give a snippet of life instead of actual lessons, then you'll like this book. It's a short book so I'd recommend it as an interesting afternoon listen.

Hodgepodge. I mean really

The Characters and story lines kept flipping back and forth. While the book could have been good and the narrator was awesome. It just didn't gel. I found a few funny spots, a few I wonder what this guy was thinking when he wrote this, and a few - maybe he needs serious professional help. Over all this book just wasn't for me. could have saved a credit.
