I love the Narrator. She does a great job of giving different personalities to the characters. I thought I would get bored with so many Mrs. Pollifax books but they have different story lines and continue to be good.

Not my favorite Pollifax story

Excellent narration. Not my favorite Pollifax storyline. A bit slow. Thoroughly enjoy the series though.

Listen to one and the 13 follow, even if you have a pile of newer listens awaiting. Pollifax and the folks she meets up with during forays into the world of espionage just can't be put aside. Barbara Rosenblat IS Emily. Take a chance on this series and you too will find yourself hooked, for the better.

A good Mrs P read

The narration was superb and a fun Mrs P whirlwind of a story. I love the adventures!

I keep thinking that I'm done with this series, but then some time passes, and I am in the mood to read the next book in the series. Mostly because the first half of this series was really good and I greatly enjoyed it. These last few books haven't been as good. This one in particular felt like a whole lot of nothing. The plot is very thin. One of the things I have enjoyed about this series is how well the author sets the scene, providing detailed information about the setting and the country's history in which the characters were in. However, in this book, it wasn't done nearly as well as it had been in the past. I did like the fact that Farrell was back and needed Mrs. Pollifax's help. Also, the narration, as always was really well done. I will probably continue on eventually, as I do like the characters even if the series as a whole has gotten a bit disappointing.

So happy to have - many years ago - discovered Ms. Gilman's works; I've had many pleasant hours of enjoyment from the Mrs. Pollifax series, reading them all again every year or so. And now, with Audible, it's even better, because I can accomplish other (mindless) tasks while reliving the adventures she was involved in. :-)
