Mrs Holliday and the golden triangle
I first read the Mrs pollifax books in the 70s, and was surprised to see the influence they have had on my life. I am 80 years old and traveled a lot. I'm sure Mrs P and the travels have made me what I am today.

Another great story in the series!
Mrs. Pollifax is a marvel and more of a hero than those in current day. She is incredibly brave walking stoically into a camp of armed heroin smugglers while totally unarmed. It’s sweet to see her love for Cyrus and how he allows her to continue to work considering how dangerous it is.

Change in Mrs Pollifax's character
I have really enjoyed all the books up to this one. I am really hoping this was simply a transitional book for Mrs Pollifax's character, given her last mission/book. In the previous books she has been confident, independent, clever, intuitive and naively optimistic.. which I enjoyed. Her character in this book was sadly none of those things, exact opposite of those qualities. This book she seemed singularly focused on finding Cyrus, to a fault and at the expense of anything and potentially anyone else .. that blind perspective hasn't manifested in past books. She seemed remarkably incapable and lost without Cyrus. As I mentioned before, I hope this books was just trying to highlight the impact of her last mission on her confidence and I hope she regains her confidence, independence, optimism, and cleverness in the next book.
