About this listen

November 1812. The untimely death of Mr William Collins leaves Charlotte a young widow with a month-old daughter and an uncertain future. At the funeral, Mr James Collins, William’s younger brother, makes his debut—a kind, resourceful, and unexpectedly charming gentleman. Unlike his late brother, James is eager to help those around him, offering support to his sister-in-law and standing firm against Lady Catherine’s overbearing interference.

As the owner of a successful firm supplying high-quality timber to Parliament, James is no stranger to responsibility. However, when Lady Catherine insists that he secure his claim to the Longbourn estate, James finds himself at a crossroads. Reluctant to impose but curious about the family he is poised to inherit from, he writes a respectful letter to Mr Bennet, requesting permission to visit and discuss the future.

With low angst, moments of humor, and an endearing new character to challenge expectations, Mr James Collins explores themes of duty, second chances, and the surprising connections that can change the course of lives. Will James Collins become an ally to the Bennet family—or an unforeseen obstacle to their happiness? Perfect for fans of Jane Austen-inspired tales with a fresh perspective and a touch of romance.

Great story

The do-overs for Charlotte, Lizzie and Jane were so well done. I enjoy low angst versions that are clever and this fits the bill.
