I was somewhat disappointed in that there was more mystery than there was. I would have liked to seen more by the dog, but overall it was a very wholesome story.

Good mystery

The dog only played a supporting role. This was a story about how a man and woman met during some trouble and how they prayed a lot to get out of it. Way too much prayer and religion for me.

Not as advertised

Enjoyed the story and it had excitement and tension. Was a little hard to wrap the quickness of the romance.

I so enjoy K-9 Search and Rescue novels. What great dogs and great people who run with them (in real life). Sadly, this novel did not do them justice. Of all the characters in this novel, Sherlock the border collie was the best. The male and female leads were okay if only the dialogue the author gave them had any character. Oh so trite and the plot and action completely predictable. Could they have been in any more trouble or ridiculous situations all in a 2.5 day time frame? The H/h tried to save the book. At least they saved themselves in the end.

Barely okay

If you believe that prayer and God will save you from the terrible decisions that you have made in a wilderness situation, this is the book for you.

Don’t do these things in the wild

Waste of my money … did not realize I was buying one of those insipid "religious" books. Shallow characters, shallow plot … Narration was good. O, and the dog is irrelevant to the story line.

Don't waste your time

I generally avoid books written by women and this book confirms that stance. My wife and I listen to a lot of books together while we are driving and I always try to find ones that I think she may enjoy. With a dog, a forest ranger, and some action, I thought this would be a good choice. It was in the fact that we both enjoyed mocking the excessive emotionalism of all of the characters. Why on two occasions when she was in contact with her supervisor via radio did she not tell him that men were out to kill them? Why did the big ass bad guy just keep threatening them over and over but never took any decisive action? And the dog was more of an emotional support animal. But at least the good guys got to live happily ever after, but then that was predictable.

If you love melodrama and cliché's this is for you
