About this listen

Christmas in the City

Kenna McMillan would do anything for her grandchildren. She would even accompany one of them hundreds of years into the future for a week of Christmas celebrations with the old witch Morna, just to make him smile. But unexpected guests at the inn upend all of their holiday plans. As she learns more about her new acquaintance, she starts to wonder if her week away might take a romantic turn....

When a trip to Conall Castle with his granddaughter results in Malcolm Warren bumping into old friends, their quick trip out of Edinburgh quickly turns into days away from the city. While there, Malcolm meets the first woman in years to stir something long neglected inside his heart. When it comes time to return to the city, his granddaughter wants to remain behind with her new friends. He invites Kenna to come with him, promising her a tour of all of the best Christmas sights in the city.

Time together ignites their passion for one another, but the undeniable truth that they live worlds apart threatens their bond. Kenna also holds a secret - can she trust Malcolm with the truth of Morna's magic? If she does, will their new love for one another be enough to convince him to leave the life he's always known?

Magic & Mistletoe

I like listening to audiobooks. It helps with the pronunciation with the names. Bethany has a way to make you feel like your part of the story. You can just imagine how it would feel to go back thru time or coming forward from the past. Kenna gets to experience to future. She gets to see where her family gone to or came from. Morna is there to help Kenna with the transition and maybe find love herself. If you like time travel books give this book a try, you will like it.

Awesome Christmast story

Would you listen to Morna's Magic & Mistletoe: A Scottish Time-Travel Romance again? Why?

Yes I would definately listen to it again as I loved this story, it was great that is was about an older couple who found love again.....

What does Lily Collingwood bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I really love the way Lily brings the characters to life and that she is so great going from accent to another and making them sound so authentic no matter what one she is using wether it be an American accent or scottish one with such ease. She was able to make both voices very different.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

During all this series I have laughed and cried no matter what book I have read.

Any additional comments?

Can't wait for the next book to come out to listen too....

What love and magic has joined together ...

I read the e-book when it came out a few weeks ago and loved it. I had no idea I could love it even more. But there is something phenomenal that happens when one of Bethany Claire’s books is in the hands of Lily Collingwood!

As a hopeless romantic I enjoy the fact that there is a happily ever after in all of Bethany Claire’s books. What I love even more about this novella is that this is the love story of an older couple. I could relate so much more because they are so much closer in age to myself.

Lily Collingwood did an excellent job. So many times while listening I could just close my eyes and feel the story come alive. That is what I really love about the Audible experience. I don’t need my hands or my eyes to progress through the story. All I need is my ears. It’s wonderful having this whole other sensory experience!

I highly recommend this audible book.

Romance for the Mature yet Young at Heart

Morna's Magic & Mistletoe is a wonderful Christmas story for readers (especially for the older audience). Kenna McMillan was sent into the future with her grandson, Cooper to enjoy Christmas in the 21st century with Morna and Jeff. Kenna has lived in the 17th century and raised her children and now enjoying the role of being a grandmother. She has never expected to have another chance at love until she met Malcolm Warren.

Malcolm Warren is taking a vacation with his granddaughter after his daughter bailed out on him. After his wife has passed awhile for several years, he wasn't expecting anything expect to try to cheer his granddaughter for the Holidays.

When Kenna and Malcolm met, it was an instant attraction. Soon both wanted more but Kenna was not willing to separate Malcolm from his family and there was also the secret of Morna's magic to shared with Malcolm.

I enjoyed this story. For those who missed love the first time, love sometimes, does come the second time. I also love this story because it is more directed to an older audience. I just love this series because it is for all ages.

I was given this audiobook by the author. I have volunteered to write an unbiased review for the book. I was not compensated or influenced in any way on writing this review.

Great Series!

This is a great book; this book is part of the Morna’s Legacy series written by Bethany Claire and narrated by Lily Collingwood. Kenna McMillan would do anything for her grandchildren. She would even accompany one of them hundreds of years into the future for a week of Christmas celebrations with the old witch Morna, just to make him smile. But unexpected guests at the inn upend all of their holiday plans. As she learns more about her new acquaintance, she starts to wonder if her week away might take a romantic turn. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. The narrator did a wonderful job with this book. She did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end. If you are looking for a great book with well-developed characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.

I loved this book

What did you love best about Morna's Magic & Mistletoe: A Scottish Time-Travel Romance?

I love the fact that this romance is between people who are of my age, over 50.There is as much uncertainties and passion as any new relationship even at that age and Bethany Claire describes the desires and fears Kenna and Mac have discovering each other beautifully.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Morna's Magic & Mistletoe: A Scottish Time-Travel Romance?

I love looking at the future though Kenna's eyes. Seeing the wonders and marvels of the 21st century thru the eyes of our 17th century time travels always brings a smile to my face.

What about Lily Collingwood’s performance did you like?

Lily Collinwood is one of the best narrators out there! She has a way of bringing each of Bethany's characters to life with such passion and spirit that it is like listening to different actors do each of the voices.

Any additional comments?

Any of Ms. Claire's books can be read as a stand alone but I recommend you read each one of them in order to understand how the characters develop and mature. If you have read any of several of Bethany's books you are familiar with young Cooper. He shines as always throughout this book. I do believe we are being set up for a future storyline with his infatuation with Rosie
