About this listen
The greatest enemy of a vampire is boredom. Four centuries of existence have taught Lord Morgan Gabriel D'Arcy to fear nothing and no one.
Humans and their weapons have little chance against his preternatural speed and arcane powers. Vampires are viral mutations of human DNA. Still, the Vampyre code requires secrecy, and he has learned to hide his nature from the world.
The lure of mortality, of a life in the sun, puts Morgan again and again at the mercy of calculating human women though they fail to consider his charm and determination into the equation. However, even grooming a future bride from infancy proves to be fraught with heartbreak. And second chances are not always what they seem unless...you are Morgan.
Immortality and beauty, aren't they grand?

Morgan D'Arcy
This is the third book by Linda Nightingale I have listened to. Vampires are one of my all time favourite genre so I was really excited to be given a copy of this book to listen to. Although the story is very well written by Linda and wonderfully performed Rebecca McKernan I have to admit it was not quite what I was expecting. That's not a bad thing necessarily sometimes surprises are - well a surprise.
Morgan is an interesting character, he has been around for hundreds of years, he was a friend of Charles II before he was King. His family fought in the English Civil War. His family seat is in Devonshire, although he also has a home in London. I personally live in Devon and had no trouble picturing his home which is referred to but not visited in this book.
The book is divided into sections and each section covers a different period of Morgan's 'life', with a different love/sexual interest in each section. We never know him as human, so for life read existence. Each section is very different with Morgan being the only constant but all of them are interesting and well written.
I hate spoilers so will not tell you any of the plot lines because this would spoil your enjoyment, what I will say is Morgan is a complex character, sexy as all get out and for all his powers I didn't feel he was happy.

Pretty Good
I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. I am up in the air about this story. It is good yet leaves me wondering. The narrator did an excellent job but the story wound me around a set of plots that came together yet each stood apart. Hard to say about how I feel about this story.

Is There a Cure
A interesting collection of four stories about Morgan D'Arcy and his long journey through life. Viral mutations of human DNA caused his vampyrism. That in an important factor in the stories. Could there be a cure? Why would he want one. Check this out to find out more? Rebecca McKernan does a good job as the narrator. This is more novella length as it is only 5+ hours long.
