About this listen

I seduced my rival for a deal. Now I'll do anything to claim her for good.

I'm Sebastian Shaw - CFO, pragmatist, and moneymaker. I've mismanaged love in the past, but when it comes to business, I'm pure shark, able to cut down any threat to my success...except Sloan O'Neill. We're vying for the same major client, so I do what any self-respecting cutthroat does to gain the upperhand: spy on the ball-busting piece of work. She may be gorgeous and unnervingly clever, but I have skills. My gutsy hourglass-shaped roadblock doesn't stand a chance.

Until I realize I'm falling for her.

Suddenly, everything from my objectives to my morals is cloudy. Stay loyal to my best friend and boss to win this critical client at any cost....or give my heart another chance? But the more time I spend with my redheaded adversary, the more I realize she's not just ambitious but kind, vulnerable...and perfect for me. Sloan has no idea how far I'll go to make her mine - but she's about to find out.

Contains mature themes.

Frustrating

I love these books and this author. But how stupid do these woman have to be?

It’s frustrating to see women being portrayed as so incredibly irrational and dumb as a main part of the storyline.

Give me more.

I know the ended to all these books but it doesn’t stop me from listening to each one within a day or two. What can I say I’m a hopeless romantic. I want everyone to be madly in love, get married and have babies.

intriguing Story, Hot Narration

Really enjoyed the story of Sloan and Sebastian, the strong attraction they had for one another, and the fears that kept them apart. Good humor too. The author, Shayla Black, continues to fascinate me with her vast variety of books, stories lines and book series. Love her choice of narrators too. In this book, I rewound Teddy Hamilton's reading of the love scenes so many times that finally all I could say was 'HOT DAMN!'

More Than Hate You

Book 7 of the Reed Family Reckoning Series finds Evans best friend and CFO, Sebastian falling for the daughter of one of the competitors daughter, Sloan.
Sloan is hard working, smart and intelligent - but she has also been beaten down emotionally by men in her life. Her father won’t acknowledge her, her male coworkers don’t respect her & her old boyfriend slept with her, then dumped her in the same day.
Sebastian is ruthless in the boardroom and is sent to try to steal a potential client from the business where Sloan works.

Needless to say, there is much of this storyline that is based on lies and deceit. Scheming seems to be the go to way to handle getting Sloan to be with Sebastian. And, of course, Sebastian so quickly falls in love with Sloan that it will make your head spin.

But even with all that, I liked the story and it was compelling enough to keep me reading all day!! Not my favorite book of the series, but definitely a must read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Favorite of the series…

…which is saying a lot because they have all been good so far. I can never make it past book 3 or 4 before I get bored. Each book has a different level of heat and this one scorched. I even laughed out loud.

Extremely disappointed

I waited for this book. And it was such a disappointment. First of all Sloan has waaaay waaaay too many issues. She needs counseling not a relationship. I barely finished this book, the only reason I did was because I hate wasting credit and money. Bas was a cocky ass. Nothing about this book was enjoyable. Not one thing.
