okay

the story seemed to get off track at timepoints. the sex scenes sounded like bad 80s porn.

So so

The story was entertaining, but the different monster girls didn't really seem all that different. Seems as if the author chose the same body type and eye color for each one and just changed the animal they where mixed with. That was kind of boring but, i enjoyed the action.

pretty good..

overall I like this series. I wasn't all that impressed with the female voices as they all mostly sounded the same and kind of made me feel like I was watching a tiktok video.
the only other thing is I wish there had been a little more to end of the story... I feel like it was rushed .. but I did like the story overall and would really enjoy a continuation or related side stories.

An OK read to pass time

First, the female voice actress has poor intonation and over pronunciation that makes it sound like she's reading a children's novel. It's really horrible during the more adult activities. There doesn't seem to be much synergy between her and the male voice actor so the story is disconnected. Imagine sitting for a reading of Homer-style epic, the room is dark, the reader is ominous --then out of the blue Barney the purple dinosaur starts voicing characters. It's not much different than that. Luckily there are but a few female character lines so you can skip most of it and still pick up the story which brings me to the next point.

Second, the story had so many opportunities to expand into a much deeper, much richer storyline and made obvious turns to flatten itself resulting in predictable outcomes. (Does the once beloved character have ulterior motives for doing something really chaotic? No, he just turned evil at some point. For no reason. No reason at all.) It got frustrating at times particularly with the female characters. Character development is at a minimal and female characters seem to only want one thing, the main character. Too unrealistic to be believed and draws me out of the novel. "These are my ambitions and dreams but now that you're here hero, I just want you". Also, there were many times when conflict should have been a lot more detailed, gone deeper into a character, but instead it stayed at the surface of I take issue with you, let's use our fists, ok you won, I no longer have issue. No vies for vengeance, no backstabbing, no slights or rebellions, no hidden agendas (at all) nothing like that. Like a game of chess reduced to a game of checkers.

On a redeeming note, the fights were well described. Again, it could have had more strategy involved in the way the main character fights (it feels like he'd be a player to just button mash and deal damage), but on the surface, the level of detail put into the fight was superb. I was thoroughly engaged during these parts of the book and my imagination painted horrifically vivid pictures of brutal gorey fights.

Overall, I gave this trilogy 2 stars. It was largely disappointing but I found some entertainment in listening to it. The biggest disappointment was the flat storyline. It had so much potential yet fell flat. One aspect that would help tremendously with the appeal of this audible is the female voice actress. At least the adult scenes would be worth listening to.

narrator

the narrator needs to move his face away from the microphone. he has an aggravating hard S that whistles in your damn brain.

Decent but not good

Decent overall story concept but poorly executed. The lines for the female characters were beyond shallow and the plot twists just fall on their own faces. The sex scenes are bad porn levels of writing. Overall, this series doesn't compete on the same level as other authors entries into this sub genre.

actually decent story

The story was actually pretty interesting and even though I disliked the MC during the "second book" I really enjoyed the story overall. seemed to me the final few chapters were squeezed in instead of creating a 4th book it was tastefully wrapped up. Both narrators left something to be desired in delivery and emphasis of emotions but the female narrator was the weakest of the two. I really wish they would have made a fourth book instead of what was done but overall am not disappointed with the overall product.

Glad for the box set

Great first two books but the last one was rushed with several ass pulls and characters turning stupid so Mc can win. Hell. The gods themselves had to step in at one point to stop him from dying. I believe the series needed to be longer because the Mc would have died no less than 7times in book 3 alone with no way out if not for the excessive plot armor in it. But I will admit the first two books were great.

Epic on all levels!

23 hours of amazing combat, cultivation, and hot chicks! How can you go wrong with that? I was saddened to see the series end but Beck did a great job of tying everything up and ending it well. There aren't many completed series out there so give this one a try. You won't regret it. The narration is top tier as well and Erin is very sexy!
