About this listen

Nikki Boyd isn't usually called in on homicides; her forte is missing persons. But when a case with two murdered and two missing pops up on a quiet suburban street, she's ready to start the investigation and find missing homeowners Mac and Lucy Hudson.

When the first clues lead her to the boat of her friend, Tyler Grant - and another dead body - Nikki must untangle what ties Tyler to the Hudsons. The clues pull her into a deadly maze of counterfeit drugs and a killer who will stop at nothing to silence anyone who threatens his business - including Nikki.

Christy Award-winning and best-selling author Lisa Harris puts listeners right into the action in this fast-paced thriller that will have them listening long into the night.

Wonderful

I loved this book, it had a well developed plot and great characters. The performance was ok but was hard to distinguish between characters.

Lots of suspense

I like that this story works well as a standalone even though it is part of a series. The individual story has a satisfying ending with plenty of room for development of future stories. The narrator doesn’t have a lot of differentiation in voices, especially between men and women.

Missing so much

Never listen to Lisa Harris books before so I was not too sure what to expect.

It's apparent I need to look her up and go back to find out what happened to her little sister.

This strong female lead female introduced me to a multi layered tough cop. But right under that strong top layer is a warm caring woman. I have found so many stories with strong females that reek of the macho woman that has to talk and walk like the men in the department to be accepted. Or the fem fatale that oozes sex appear and knows how to use it.

I very much appreciate this story showing it is possible to have a good mystery with cops and robbers w no foul language, no gore and no raunchy sex that turns me off.

Although it was not one I could not put down, it was very enjoyable.

Thank you Lisa Harris.

Dragged out

All could have been much shorter. Very redundant in parts, descriptions that were distracting and unnecessary to over all story. Doubt I will listen to more by this author,

A little heavy on the romatic side.

Great plot and mystery, a little too much on the romantics, great narration. I'll follow the narrator.

I Sure Tried To Like This

I tried to like this but as soon as the narrator started talking, I knew it better be a fascinating book because the narrator's voice was grating, monotone, and annoying. After backing the book up a couple of chapters more than once to try to figure out what I was missing, I gave up. I lost track of the people, who was who, and I knew the main character woman was going to be one more sad sack who couldn't have the man she wanted because they were just friends.

Life's too short for bad books.

Needs serious audio editing!

Story ok,but what makes this hard listening are the huge(even 2-3 seconds can be huge)and chronic gaps between sentences. It completely stops any flow or rhythm in conversations or just narrating the story. Not the narrators fault but really drags the book out. Couldn’t finish.
