About this listen

Ever since she created a scandal at a Christmas ball, Charlotte Moore has dreaded the return of the holiday. This year, at a small Christmas party, Charlotte is tasked with proving to her family that she can behave within society's expectations or be permanently exiled to her aunt's rural manor.

Charlotte is determined to stifle her unladylike urges and act the perfect debutante. But then the very cause of her past scandal comes knocking at the door, and it has, in tow, the daring, dashing, devil-may-care Henry Simmons.

The rules say to stay away. They say it's not proper to play games at midnight or get caught alone under the mistletoe. They also say Charlotte laughs too loudly, dances the wrong dance, and should not play with fire. The more time she spends with the handsome rogue, the more she wonders whether staying on society's nice list is worth losing the joy in life. Can Charlotte find happiness within the rules, or will following her heart be her biggest scandal yet?

Good

This book was good. The only problem I might have had with it was that the ending felt a little abrupt. It wrapped up all the loose ends of the story but I felt that it could have gone just a little farther.

Happy Christmas

Charlotte Moore has been in exile living with her aunt for three years because she embarrassed her parents during her first season. She hopes that helping make her aunt’s Christmas house party a success will be her final test to prove she has learned her lesson so that she can return home. When her aunt’s godson, Henry Simmons, arrives, Charlotte is quite taken with him. Will Charlotte accomplish her goal and go home, or will she find a better direction for her life? There are several other interesting stories among the party guests. I enjoyed Virginia Ferguson’s narration of this engaging story.

In the Romantic Tradition

An interesting old fashioned love story in the tradition of the Harlequin romances, but better. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

CHOICES ! !

“Miss Moore's Christmas Scandal” by Anastasia Hayward
I enjoyed my time in this audiobook. A clean sweet Regency ‘rules of decorum’ and challenges to be faced story of how Charlotte handled her challenges. All in all a good story with good narration. Happy Reading ! !
NOTE: This review expresses my honest opinion.
