Mythological fantasy

This audiobook was performed well, as the voice actor used different accents for different characters, enhancing the listener's experience. The story follows a FMC assassin, paid to put supernatural beings down that hurt humans. Motivated by her adoptive brother's death, she has a soft spot for humans, and she's at the top of her game until her next assignment is the attractive MMC, who appears human. In watching this new assignment, she will find that his destiny is just as complicated as hers. With themes of self discovery, loyalty, and good vs evil, this story entwines biblical elements with that of demons/angels, vampires, werewolves, elves, and other mythological lore, making it an interesting and fun book. Overall, I gave it four stars because some of the lore felt forced, and at times, the character interaction seemed odd. Despite that, the storyline was quite creative. Readers that love mythological lore fantasy books might enjoy this one.

Movie in your mind

This story had some twists and turns I was not expecting. In a good way though! There were many characters and intricate plot sequences to navigate through; but the narrator did a great job distinguishing the characters with distinctive voices and accents. I am looking forward to the next book. I would love to hear sound effects in the next one too!
