Amazingly close to the original!

LDP did a stellar job of portraying the shy, quiet, socially awkward Charlie. He complimented Robert Duvall's original performance perfectly. Very happy with this rendition. True to the original.

Good

What makes this a worthwhile listen is the performance of Lou Diamond Philips. His characters kind meekness comes across without any annoying overacting.

Lou Diamond Philips makes this well worth a listen

What makes this a worthwhile listen is the performance of Lou Diamond Philips. His characters kind meekness comes across without any annoying overacting. He is pleasant to listen to. Story is OK thanks to the doubt as to what's real and what's in the protagonists head. Almost a four star rating.

Bitter sweet

I think what I was supposed to get from this is: person who doesn't fit in finds his place in an unconventional way. What I actually saw was: damaged person unable to make human connections projects imagined relationship onto an object. Great acting from LDP. Other voices are mediocre.
