About this listen

The next blockbuster Minecraft novel from the bestselling publishing program!

Opal has almost done it all—fought monsters, protected people from pillagers, and even defeated the legendary Ender Dragon! But that’s all in the past. Now, Opal has hung up her adventuring hat and is living the life of a happy creafter, far more likely to build a bed than to fight a Wither. In fact, Opal has decided that her time is best spent building her dream manor outside the very village that displays the Ender Dragon skull she brought back from the End!

Meanwhile, Opal’s sister, Lisa, is at the beginning of her own journey. She’s ready to be a hero. Just ask her. Or don’t. She’ll tell you anyway. She knows every single story ever told about her sister and probably about a few other heroes as well. She admires Opal immensely—always has. But now it’s her turn for an adventure.

And that adventure might be bigger than she could ever have imagined. One day, a traveling adventurer named Braun arrives in town, claiming he knows how to defeat the Warden—a fearsome mob that not even Opal has bested. Lisa jumps at the chance to join Braun on his epic quest, and Opal reluctantly agrees to accompany the duo—only to protect her sister, of course. But along the way, Opal might just rediscover her love of adventure, and realize that it’s even more fun when someone else is there to share in the story….

Very fun and lots of back sounds.

The story was simple but a little confusing during the middle parts. The back sound was excellent. You can just close your eyes and be there.

A Journey To The Ancient City? Or a Journey to Find Yourself?

I feel like this book was completely different than the title would allure you into thinking. Opal is a coward and it's really irritating, she was described to be this brave hero but she doesn't come across that way. she comes across as sort of over protective. adding Braun is a odd choice id say,and a unnecessary one honestly. he felt shoe horned in and his chapter was rather dry, his narrator was quite the actor, however. He puts a lot of feeling into his words, and it's impressive. that doesn't excuse the poor characterization though.

Lisa.. well, she has ambition, she has a real motive and her part in the story is the most well structured. but she still has flaws. she's not the lead I assumed she'd be.

Lisa's narrator, Amber, and the narrator for Opal, Ozzie, in my opinion, should actually be swapped. The voice Ambr does for Opal has a more powerful delivery than Ozzie's, and Ozzie has a much more whimsical and airy voice, her voice is warm and cheerful, and would have been great for Lisa as a character. voices make characters a lot different. and, I wish that it had been different.
