About the Creator

Jamie D. Roberts (she/her) is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and founder of Equilibrium Counseling Services, a teen mental health center in Southern California. Her counseling center is a welcoming and validating atmosphere for every race, spiritual affiliation, sexual orientation, and gender seeking to become a Cycle Breaker by prioritizing their own mental health. As a queer neurodivergent therapist she understands and celebrates the intersection of identities and the impact this has on one’s own mental health. Jamie describes her work as strength-based with the goal of building upon innate qualities to navigate through life’s obstacles. Outside of work Jamie spends her free time hosting mindfulness paint nights, traveling, and playing with her two kitties, Zeus and Athena.

Understanding my teenager

This book helped me to understand my 14 year old life changes. I never considered how much stress she has as a new high school student along with all the other concerns teenagers have.

Fabulous book for teens with teens with Anxiety

The author’s content and readers presentation will connect with teens and even many adults suffering from anxiety. A great toolbox offering clear explanations and easy to do Excercises that are very relatable to teens. As an RN with behavioral health experience, I found this book to be a very educational and enjoyable read. Parents of teens with anxiety will appreciate the authors ability to connect with and help your teen.

This was excellent for me over 60 years old.

Loved listening to this book and will listen and take notes next time. Read over and take notes because it is worth it.

being a mindful teen

I think it is a wonderful way to connect with teens and help them understand there not alone. It also helps teens reground themselves in the current or work through anxieties. There anxieties are normal and wandering thoughts. How to be more mindful teen short read and good book! recommend for teens and adults. good book!

Disappointing

thought it would aid an anxious teen based on title. Per teenager, Voice made me more anxious, and if I have to listen to more, just forget it!
