The story follows James Henrikson, a man driven by power and revenge, and the consequences of his violent ambition—from the disappearance of K.C. Clarke to the shocking murder of Doug Carlile.
The writing is strong, with timelines that keep you on edge. Some parts slow down just a bit, but it always picks back up with high-stakes tension.
What really makes this audiobook shine, though, is Marcus Barton's narration.
Barton is phenomenal—his delivery is clear, engaging, and perfectly paced. He strikes the right tone throughout, whether he's voicing sinister manipulation or moments of heartbreak and suspense. He doesn’t just read the story—he performs it, and it makes all the difference.
Highly recommended if you love well-crafted true crime with a psychological edge and top-tier narration. I couldn’t stop listening.
