Finally Feeling Confident!
I’ve always wanted to try homesteading but didn’t know where to start. This guide broke everything down in a way that made sense without feeling overwhelming. I started with a small garden and some basic food preservation, and it’s honestly changed how I approach things. The tone felt like chatting with a friend who’s been there. It’s practical, straightforward, and helped me take real steps instead of just dreaming about it. Highly recommend if you’re new to all this!

Steps to homesteading success
I listened to this as a fan of the idea and potential homesteader and it really delivered. The book does a great job of making self-sufficiency feel doable, even if you don’t have a lot of land or experience. I especially liked the breakdown of beginner-friendly crops and the step-by-step food preservation tips— there are super clear and easy to follow. The section on renewable energy was interesting but was a bit out of my domain compared to the rest. If you’re new to homesteading and want realistic, budget-friendly tips, this is a great place to start.

great beginner guide
I was excited to get the opportunity to listen to this book. We are transitioning to growing our own food and so far we've mostly stopped buying our fruits and veggies/herbs from the grocery store. There are a few things we still are trying to transition and ths book is helping us with a great plan! The book is easy to read and provides great tips on everything homesteading. We will start with animals next! And this author has made this feel very doable even if you have never done this before. The author encourages doing what you can, tackling one thing at a time, you don't have to do it all at one time! This is a great book to have onhand as a resource for beginning and afterwards as well, I highly recommend!

Fired up about chickens!
I've always been curious about homesteading but thought it was outta my league. Turns out, it's totally doable! The tips on starting a veggie garden and composting were super helpful - I've already got my first batch of tomatoes growing!
The chicken coop instructions were a bit tricky, but I managed to build a decent one for my backyard. What I loved most was how the book made everything seem achievable, even for a city slicker like me. It's got me fired up to try more self-sufficient living, one step at a time.
