About this listen

Have you been wanting to learn Chinese but can’t find an effective way to increase your vocabulary?

Are you tired of boring textbooks containing complicated grammar that you don’t really need to get started?

Would you like to learn the Chinese language fast by taking a more practical approach?

If you answered yes to at least one of these questions, then you’re in the right place!

This audiobook contains 2500 of the most common Chinese words so that you can get a head start compared to those still learning Chinese in a more traditional way.

Usually, Chinese textbooks rely on learners to learn the characters. But here, Pinyin is introduced, allowing learners to quickly remember every word.

As you will discover, these words will be more than enough for your travels, and you’ll start to be able to have conversations in Chinese.

This audiobook is well-organized with basic words making up part one of the audiobook so you can use those simpler words as building blocks for part two of the audiobook, which contains words that will increase your Chinese skills even further.

Ready to give it a go? Start right away! You’ll feel the difference, and everyone else will notice, too!

Good For Self-Study

I have been learning Chinese via self-study for over a year at this point, and this has been a great addition to the self-study arsenal. I really appreciate the use in context aspect for these words, as it helps both with gaining a deeper meaning as well as becoming more familiar with Chinese grammar.

Good Choice

Having learned characters years ago, I'm enjoying reviewing them with the pinyin and example sentences. Typically, authors list BU only as a falling tone, which of course is a mistake, one that hopefully will not trouble you. In summary, this is an excellent aid for beginners in learning Chinese.

This is an excellent resource

Overall, this is an excellent resource for those serious about studying Mandarin that I could easily recommend to supplement language instruction or practice vocabulary. While I hope slight improvements could be made in the future, such as adding additional sample sentences or multiple pronunciations or meanings for characters with two or three distinct uses (他 is given for he, but not 她, for she, although 她 does show up in several example sentences) or providing the HSK level of each word, what is included is still great.

Really Nice

It’s a really nice simple straightforward reference/frequency word list with sentences for context to make the words easier to go through getting familiar with in some simple context.

Pretty Easy

There may not be a more intimidating language than Chinese. From the tonal system to the thousands of characters, it can be enough to send many people running for the hills.

Recommended!

I highly recommend this resource, or something similar, for figuring out the most common words, especially because there are few printed resources like this. It's a very useful learning aid, similar to how a dictionary is used, and great for being used alongside other resources such as lessons.

I enjoyed this a lot.

I enjoyed this a lot. Being a native Chinese speaker, it is hard to really explain how to truly learn Chinese in context, and this book is a great way to start. I have shared this friends who are interested in learning Chinese and a more engaging manner!

Good One

In order to learn a language efficiently beyond the beginning grammar, you should focus on learning the words most commonly used. This is a technique I've learned successfully as you won't need to expand your vocabulary greatly when you are just building, and this book is a great way to get you started.
