About this listen

Are you looking for a fun way to teach your child new words? Then you are in the right place! Perfect for young learners! Bonus - they learn some first-aid too!

After watching his dad do heart surgery, Maxx goes to play soccer with his besties, Arielle and Lucas. While warming up, Lucas gets slammed in the head by a soccer ball causing a bloody nose. Lucas is a mess! Can Maxx, with Arielle’s help, stop the bleeding? Will Lucas be ok?

With all the fun of an amazing adventure, Marvelous Maxx and the Soccer Ball is sure to capture the hearts and minds of children and adults alike. You won't just enjoy the story, you will feel a part of it and learn a lot!

Created by a Harvard-trained teacher to educate and inspire, children will love learning awesome new words and powerful first-aid, through the adventures of a group of children - Maxx, Arielle, Ethan, and Lucas - in a colorful journey.

Each new word is defined in simple language your child can understand, and listed in a glossary at the end e.g.I shiver. It’s frigid in here!

‘Frigid’ is a marvelous word meaning ice-cold.

Lucas looks miserable and anxious.

‘Miserable’ means unhappy.

‘Anxious’ means super-scared.

For all those asking "Are there any other 'Fancy Nancy' type books to teach new words and facts?"

The resounding answer is "YES!" Marvelous Maxx has stepped up to entertain and educate both boys and girls.

Our experts chose the perfect words so that your child will be a better reader at any age. Within each new adventure, children will learn epic words like “delectable, intriguing, rumble, distressed, anxious, swift” that will ignite their imagination. In addition, we include at least one common idiom in each book such as “The world is your oyster” which means you can do anything or go anywhere. We know you will enjoy. John & Catherine Higgins

MY SON LEARNED WORDS, ABOUT VALVES & NOSBLEEDS!

I purchased this audiobook for my 6-year-old son, who loves learning. He’s reads well and also learning to write stories too.
Great new words like energetic, wail, airway, anxious, ban, swift, and idioms like 'the world is your oyster.'
I wanted something a bit more challenging to stretch his mind and decided to search for some fun yet educational picture books.
I bought the paperback book too - so, I had my son read it.
There were a bunch of new words for him. Then I had him listen to the audible several times, while following along in the book.
He did it after listening first, and he got it down really well, and started using those new words he learned.
And finally, he read the whole book by himself - totally proud of him.
I am busy so having the audible recording was perfect.  OMG - the narrator was perfect.
Simply AWESOME! Also, it's teaching my son some special skills that literally might help him save a life one day–e.g. what to do if he or one of his friends gets a nose bleed – totally WOWED!!!
With all the picture book choices these days, its so refreshing to listen to a fun children's book yet at the same time learn bucketloads of helpful information - new vocabulary and first aid!
This is totally a winner. And we went to the website www.marvelousmaxx.com and found there were a bunch of other Maxx adventures -
my son begged me to get - totally happy to grant him his wish :) Recommended if you have a young curious reader and you want to build their word power - this is a winner!
