Margin is Marvelous!

The leader ship at my office was assigned this book to read. I was definitely intrigued by it. I will say the first half of the book was difficult to read as it outlines how margin has been taken, stolen, robbed from me, and others! It was quite depressing to Look at the issues and see that it was very valid! The second half of the book is pure gold. It’s about the most important things and how to restore and reconcile with God and people in relationships. The book is even more important now than when he first wrote it. Our society has become Electronic addicted. And without margin, relationships are completely sacrificed definitely a sobering and thought provoking read! With the advent of the new year upon us, I highly recommend reading this, and applying it to your life! You won’t regret it! And it may just save your relationship with God, yourself, and others!

Not what I expected.

The concepts started out good and applicable to real life. It progressively became more theological and God based. Struggled to finish as I found myself fast forwarding through the last 5 chapters that seemed much like a religious sermon.

Good book, but could have been condensed to section 3

I enjoyed this book and found I thought provoking. However, the entire book could have been neatly condensed into section 3. Overall it’s a good listen, but feel free to skip ahead to the third section. You won’t be missing too much.

Good concept

It was a good concept, but I was hoping for more ideas or techniques on how to apply the concept. This left me wanting to know, “How do I accomplish this?”

Content

A great reminder to refocus on what God has given us, rest! Loved the medical perspective and the spiritual tie in.

great challenge

this month challenged me to examine what I feel my life with, what my values are, and what I should be doing as I spend my life here on earth.

Refreshing!

I really enjoyed this book. The author's emphasis on healthy boundaries and healthy relationships was quite helpful. I also appreciated the depth of research and his closing admonition to live a life of love.

Should be required reading in college

I didn’t like this book, I loved it and read it twice. I recommend it to everyone I love. Unfortunate I didn’t read it years ago when I lost all my margin.

I agree with the authors message

Great concept however I thought the book lacked everyday practical tools and focused a lot on the reasoning and benefits of valuing “margins” which are an easy sell. Overall I think the authors message could have been summed up in an article vs a book.

Great overall, but...

There's so much good information that's spot on throughout the entire book. That being said, the last 3 hrs got continuously more and more like a church sermon that almost made me stop listening and puke because it felt like it was being shoved down my throat. I get the spiritual aspect to de-stressing or learning how to let go and be content with what's in front of you, but come on...
