About this listen

Jordan B. Peterson's Maps of Meaning is now available for the first time as an audio download!

Why have people from different cultures and eras formulated myths and stories with similar structures? What does this similarity tell us about the mind, morality, and structure of the world itself? From the author of 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos comes a provocative hypothesis that explores the connection between what modern neuropsychology tells us about the brain and what rituals, myths, and religious stories have long narrated. A cutting-edge work that brings together neuropsychology, cognitive science, and Freudian and Jungian approaches to mythology and narrative, Maps of Meaning presents a rich theory that makes the wisdom and meaning of myth accessible to the critical modern mind.

Parachuting around the US

I’ve listened to maps of meaning twice as I’ve traveled as a skydive instructor around this beautiful country. Jordan Peterson is a genius living amongst us in this confusing time of anxiety ridden and consuming materialistic individuals and capitalist interests to tie so much of history and physiological issues together. This book maps of meaning will blow your mind and keep you intrigued the way Peterson ties together themes and stories from mythology to Buddhism and Christianity to tie together to a central theme of understanding and equality for those that enjoy these types of journeys. I will listen to this book again definitely recommend not only for your spirits well being or if your needing a change in your life but to uplift your spirit and set things right within your own kingdom that dwells within.

12 rules was for you, Maps was for Him

Seriously good read for any fan of literature, psychology, mythology, comics, manga, and JBP. Very VERY long book - extremely in depth. Fortunately, elaborations are rarely presented a priori, but instead draw from existing scholarly research.

My experience

Jordan shared a range of ideas and theory from self experience and applied knowledge. No matter ones educated level, you’ll comprehend the meaning of the truth. Anyone who has experienced life, has walked in these shoes and probably repeatedly. I highly recommend at some point in your life to read, especially if you are thirsty for understanding.

Wishing you all the best

Great book but takes focus!

This is an awesome information filled book. It really reminds me of Joseph Campbell’s the Hero Motif. It puts forth a lot of interesting ideas connecting to dots between culture and myth. Great read, really long though.

A VERY CLOSE TRANSLATION OF THE WORLD

This book will explore your deepest thoughts about yourself, and the things and people around you. It's a magistral representation of the psychological phenomena inside of the simplest things that you as observer receive in your passways. Not an easy book, you have to listen attentively, is not an option, you have to do it...
It's enjoyable and interpersonal. It's a master piece in the phycology and philosophical field.
