How does a troubled boy from California come to be one of the world's most renowned aviators? How does a group of brothers who were high school dropouts from New Hampshire go on to build some of the most advanced aircraft of the time? How do these men become forever linked to one of the greatest air races in history? This is the story of Jimmy Doolittle, the Granville Brothers, and the amazing Gee Bee R-1 Racer.

Very commendable all around!

I REALLY like this effort. The author clearly did his own research and covered the convergence of events the led up to the historic Doolittle piloting of the fantastic GeeBee racer at the Cleveland Air Race of 1933, and then he narrated his own work. I know some will point out the occasional errors, and yes, the author’s voice may not match the tonal quality of some of the pros, but this guy did it all himself, and he covered an amazing event in aviation history that isn’t available in any other audio format. So, if you love aviation history, so this guy a little gratitude for helping preserve some of it. And if you hit a minor flaw in aviation terminology or such, just press on. I enjoyed this immensely!
